Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Flip and TI beef reminded me of 50 and Ja in the sense that one was up and coming, the cool new wave.

Didn’t think Flip or TI had crazy disses. Just remember the fight that never released the tape and the concert.

The highlight for me was having Scarface on the phone.

and 50 won against Ross, because of the baby momma stuff and skits, but Ross won the war by continuously putting out hot music and being relevant.

Gucci and Jeezy was a draw to me, because it wasn't about music. Just like Yo Gotti and Young Dolph.

I'm a big Face fan and I always thought that was a weak *** move by Face. Face had been real cool with Flip for years, then you start gossiping and talking ****. That wasn't cool. Especially because Flip had put Houston back on the map after Scarface was a little cool and ****. I remember seeing an interview a while back and Face said he regretted that.

Gucci won that one to me after The Truth came out. Don't remember Jeezy having any joints like that.

He killed Flip in that battle.

I remember riding around with my brother and he had that TI and Drama tape bumping. Just back to back to back Flip disses.

I had the   face the whole time.

That whole beef was garbage, nothing but lightweight disses from both sides, lies on T.I.'s part, and various Houston rappers hating on and jealous of Flip and taking T.I.'s side.

The funny thing is Flip was right, but he was the only one with the balls to say it publicly.

Whichever the one is that he starting clowning his leprechaun suit :lol I remember being a lil kid in them days and my big bro blasting that song every day :lol

I used to see him when he was doing the Cloverleaf Lerprechaun **** and thought it was weird as ****. That gave TI way too much ammo.

Exactly. T.I. told nothing but lies in every diss (including misinterpreting a Flip freestyle which caused the whole thing in the first place), went to Scarface and this doped up dusty local Houston rapper Lil 3rd to get more dirt on Flip that were also lies, and a bunch of people just ran with it. Z-Ro, Cham, and Botany Boys were the only Houston dudes that had Flip's back, when everyone else was on T.I.'s nuts thinking they'd get features or whatever. T.I. did damage to Flip's career, but not a single thing he said was actually true. Tells you more about T.I. and the people backing him that anything else. Had more people actually spoke up instead of being jealous, Flip's career in the limelight would have lasted longer

Flip shoulda stepped his game up. Luda went at TI's neck on Stomp but TI had 1 great album out and another coming out. Good music will always win or even out a rap beef (Jay and Nas).

The Leprechaun jokes were the only line I really remember hearing people talk about. It was funny but the album cover was always whatever to me. Funny and corny but it went with his whole Cloverland thing so those bars weren’t that crazy to me.

50/Ross produced one of Ross’ best albums (Deeper Than Rap)...50 was still falling off then, and came with Before I Self Destruct which wasn’t well received either. However 50 knocking out Gunplay and stuntin with his chain was pretty G

And whatever lie TI told about flip being in the same building but scared to come to the stage was pretty detrimental too. Everybody thought flip was soft

But also, lies make great disses right? It’s about how creative u can be right? Can’t make exceptions cuz u like flip..

i thought it came out
that the whole beef started cause flip
didnt let ti get on one of his remixes
and ti got butthurt
and started dissing him

Today that would have been more effective, because it would be recorded.

They said it was recorded but i think J Prince or someone said it wasn’t coming out.

TI’s wife liked Flip and wanted to work with him, TI was mad and then wanted to get on the Game Over Remix and Flip was like nah. Then TI started his ****.

That as well, but the freestyle is what sent him into a tailspin. I've always been fascinated by the Flip/T.I. beef cause it was ran on nothing lies and so many people with good standing could have stepped in and called out T.I. on all his lying, but they just fell back cause they didn't like Flip for whatever reason. Scarface was the biggest perpetrator of that just cause Flip didn't want to sign with Def Jam south, talking about Flip wasn't in the hood and such, even though he was well into his peak, and Scarface was very far removed himself. The media's take and presentation of that beef vs what actually happened was such a huge contrast.

The way face moved in the tip/flip beef and the way jones moved in the 50/cam beef made me question what kinda integrity these dudes had

"Show some courtesy Curtis"

:rollin

The phone call....and the way Cam was laughing like a 12 year old....and 50 being visibly/audibly fed up had me dying.

The damn video with the dude on the stand telling on everybody, then them singing outside the camp fire was hilarious man.

Cam mastered the art of being juvenile and funny with the disses.
