there are other albums on the same level In terms of quality. Not about to bother naming them but they’re definitely out there.

thing with illmatic is that it was pivotal for its time. It changed hiphops trajectory and set a new standard for what a solid album was supposed to be.

its BEEN matched in terms of technical quality several times over by now.
