Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

You don't see the difference between Snoop and Kanye, then?

Do i see the difference overall clearly....

do i see the same people claiming to be so "upset" with Kanye "Using god for profit" & "Buzz" up in arms about Snoop releasing a Gospel Album?

As usual Kanye bringing out the fake cares & hypocrisy in people and i'm commenting on it  . I get it people don't like Kanye cool, but i'm SICK of ****** trying to dress it up in these fake *** morals that they don't apply to their favorites.

That n_ Ty don’t even listen to gospel music. Man sit dine

It’s prolly still a fair point tho

Kanye clearly been into religion, religious iconography etc. from the jump

The timing of the **** seem hella ironic but him doing a gospel album prolly make more sense than any other rapper

Again, not sure why this doesn't cut through with some people, but the same person can justifiably have a completely different reaction to two different people doing the same thing. It has more to do with the track record and history of the person than it does a gospel album. Kanye has a history of being a snake oil salesman. I can't say the same about Snoop.

People aren't mad at Kanye dropping a gospel album, they're upset that it's another blatant attempt. Same **** different day with Kanye.

Nobody care about new music from Snoop so it make sense

_’s already know the ticket w him now too, Snoop Lion lasted 1 album and documentary (that was basically just an Adidas ad) :smh:

That's the thing i could see if the blowback was happening from another group, but it's constant from the same group who "cancelled" him 2-3 albums ago. At this point i'm just trying to understand their issue.

Like at what point do they not understand that by lifting their pitchforks it just shines more light & creates more discussion.

If Nikki Minaj or Cardi B drop a gospel album on the same day......

Who will receive more media fanfare and accolades?

another blatant attempt at what exactly??

Kanye Was probably at his wildest last year... he dropped Ye on a short week & did 200K... he later on dropped a throwaway track with Lil Pump & that went #1.. Yeezy as a brand is at it's height.... all this came after "cancellation".

So the whole notion that he's doing the gospel "to get the people back on his side" is just dumb. The numbers saying that the people who "cancelled" him clearly ain't effecting his #'s.

That same crowd of people also says he doesn't care about black culture & only wants the acceptance of whites.... if that's the case why are these same people turning around and saying he's doing gospel to regain a black demo

Man was booked for HOWARD homecoming. One of the most historic HBCUs. Black people still buy his shoes and apparel. It’s more groupthink, then actual dislike. He’s done too much for the culture anyway.

he’s that color struck (old black saying) relative who loves white people but he don’t know any better and is conditioned so, you gotta accept him.

the thing is, A LOT of black people think like Kanye. They’re just ashamed to admit it so, they pick at him. He’s bold enough to say it, while they internally feel the same way but don’t want backlash.

Oddly enough for as much **** he gets for supposedly "trying to be white" his main points the past year have all been things that some "woke" people clamor for & never do.

- Build your company's & retain ownership (Owning the Majority of Yeezy, getting your masters back)
- Buy Land for your people he now has compounds in Cali & Wyoming that he plans on using for affordable housing & things such as farming, USA factories
- share your resources with those he came up with you (think Virgil, Don C, Ibn Jasper, Jerry Lorenzo, Pusha) etc etc. Not to mention Kanye & Yeezy have played a huge part in these brands being willing to PARTNER with other entertainers & creating sub brands (FENTY does not exist in this capacity if Kanye doesn't publicly go to war with high fashion, then go on to succeed at Adidas)
- Stop letting politicians control you based off tradition, force them to earn your vote

That's why it's extra funny to me that the loudest people on social media begging for his downfall are usually blue check types who make their livings being the mouthpiece for white liberal corporations.
