Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

I for damn sure can expect that. I made the show, and am part of what made it pop. It's been clear that they been wanting to get rid of him a long time ago. They've been having problems. That one episode where he was just quite comes to mind

You can expect it. But if you don't OWN the show or any part of it. It's not happening anywhere :lol You bring the sponsors to the negotiating table when the contract expires and all of a sudden you're in a position of power.

CTG is a real drider. As time goes on he just looks more and more fake.

 @ Ak and Desus/Mero going back and forth. Goofiness everywhere.

I gave up on any respect I had for dude after the Tommi **** and when I found out he made the Pink Tee song

who is this
and whats the significance of the pic

Essentially birthed the sound of right now that Uzi and Carti is flourishing off of...never blew up himself tho bc of various reasons. str8drop str8drop did a great breakdown of his timeline in here a few weeks ago.

Now I guess he writing or something for Ye's new album. Pierre got Ye ******* with that new ATL. He posted a vlog type thing on IG w the Good Music logo a few months ago but deleted it. I need a Nudy verse and Pierre beat on the new Ye project.

AK prolly feel hella weird and disrespected because _'s trashing the show and disliking all the videos now that joe out

I looked at the Combat tribute and was wondering what was up.

Nadeska sitting there with the poot poot face because nobody gives a damn what the hell she does.

Her passive aggressive complaining.

This kinda makes me hate him even more. ***** *** dude

I can't dislike that dude. It's hard for me to even look at him like he's 27. I look at him as I would a naive and immature 18 year old.

Man ya'll dislike for these dudes is crazy

Yeah it is, it's hard for me to dislike anyone involved. I see their side. Nebraska and Ak are just caught in the middle. If Joe isn't upset at them, nobody else should.

You the new intern for his podcast?

I'm not caping. But you can't sign a six month contract, expect a direct cut from any new sponsors, sabotage those sponsors, then expect the bag to come when it's time to negotiate with suits.

Joe has an independent mentality. It's why he stopped messing with major labels. And why Rory and Mal weren't shocked to hear this happened. I get where he's coming from but that doesn't mean he's 100% in the right. This is what he signed up for.

Yeah, Joe didn't handle it well. If you brought the idea, your name should have been listed in the credits. You should have had something more favorable in the contract.

CTG is a real drider. As time goes on he just looks more and more fake.

I really realized that he's an opportunist. It was very apparent during the Kevin Hart interview. He tries to stay in certain peoples good graces to further his career.

I wish both parties involved wouldn’t do this. I like desus and mero a lot but even they should realize the importance of twitch, YouTube social media etc. also who even has viceland as a channel. I’d assume more people consume their content via the viceland site, Facebook and YouTube vs actually watching the tv show

Side note: what’s gonna end up happening is Ak and joe are gonna end up doing a side podcast. The reason I say this is Ak attached to joe and it doesn’t come off like he wanted him to leave. Dude was even talking about a pay cut to keep joe

Yeah that **** was jokes but when you broke it down they was off on a lot of things lol. Desus and Mero started online and Everyday Struggle comes on Fuse TV via Complex on Fuse and their sets probably require the same amount of personnel and effort

Then they say they never heard of him/never dissed him then play a clip where they diss him or at least egg Mensa on to do so

Suck my yick from the back got me tho. I've never seen someone hop up to say it like that LMAO.

I hope Joe don't do no sadistic Joe esque **** to Ak though. Dude seems like he really looks at him like a friend, that ***** choking up voice crackling and **** lol. At 18 mins i dead *** thought he was about to cry im still not convinced he didnt bc that got kinda cringey to watch so I turned it off lol. it's good he cares tho lol.

DEAD @ (emotional)

Lol. Ak has the backbone of a snail :smh: ***** come to work everyday and let a crackhead disrespect him and talk down smh. Let the migos roast him and still stans for them. Let meek talk down and threaten him but still continue to talk about him :lol straight crash dummy

Its more like they refine what Ye does.

If Ye gonna be on some new ATL trap ****, Key! could very well save a few lines from being more cringeworthy than they already are gonna be in terms of how he sets up the bars and punchlines and ****. Although personally I think we've seen enough of Kanye on trap type beats but I'm sure he'll pull something decent off.

Why does Kanye have all these people come in and write for him :smh:

Do we even know what Kanye sound like without him having _'s in the studio with him? srsly

The difference is he formerly had A1 traditional lyricist around him to get influenced by i.e. Cons/GLC/Rhymefest. These dudes always rapped circles around him and made him seem hella average lyrically (IMO). Seem like he just tryna do something different these days (not always a good thing ). His greatest strength outside of production is curation to me.

Glad The Brand went at Akademikis, true I don't consume their show via the channel, idk how to even get viceland but shows are free on the site. Curious to see what type of paper the brand is getting.

I don’t think they are getting really paid paid from viceland. But it is allowing them outside opportunities and growing their brand which is more important. You take X money from vice but then You get more podcast listeners which you can then use to command more from sponsors. You get on Colbert and stuff which gets your face more recognized. You start doing more and more live shows etc.

Just watched the snippet of the Podcast about Joe leaving and Joe really misunderstood his importance to Complex. He gave them the blueprint in making a great show and they felt like he ain't irreplaceable. Joe talks about integrity then says contracts don't mean anything. Can't be both. Once you are under contract a man with integrity will fulfill his contractual obligation and renegotiate at the end of it. Sound like Joe wanted his contract to be a bit different mid agreement, business is not guaranteed to work like that. If Complex wanted to be "fair" they could have cut him a lil check or a better check but they didn't have to because a company will always fall back on what's in the contract. Sound like he cared so little about how his role was described in the beginning they were able to screw him because of wording in it.

I get it tho, you see the company you working for getting some extra bread for your work and they want you to feast on the crumbs, def have problems and voice your problems but you agreed to the terms of your contract and if you don't respect what you signed and agreed on.

Days after news broke that Joe Budden and Complex could not agree on a new contract for him to be on “Everyday Struggle”. We now know where Joe will take his talents. We got word from people at Revolt that Joe is signing on with Diddy to have his own Podcast air on Revolt. The deal is rumored to be a 5 year $5 Million dollar deal.

Joe will do his Revolt debut this New Years eve when him and C Tha God will host a year end review show. Check the preview of that show below. What do you guys think? Did Joe make the right move leaving a hit show?
