Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

i think we were having this migos/gwinnett convo in the breakfast club thread lol but this relates to troy too...

it be the ****** who didnt “jump off the porch” until they graduated hs/in their 20’s who be making the dumb decisions lol and wilding out for no reason

https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/quavo-...robbery-at-grammy-after-party-news.43177.html

Sources say Eric and the Migos were in the club early Monday morning, around 4:30 AM, when smack talk over money Quavo allegedly owed Eric turned physical. Eric told cops he got jumped by Quavo and another man who was partying with the group. However, sources say that the “other man” wasn’t Offset or Takeoff though.

Eric reportedly left the club immediately after the altercation with minor injuries to the face, but as he left noticed his $30,000 chain was missing. He has since filed a robbery report with the cops for his chain.

Law enforcement say the NYPD want to talk each members of the Migos group, as well as their manager. They also want to review security cam footage from 1Oak as well. So we'll have to wait and find out what happens.

these boys love flexing up on hollywood people (chris brown, sean kingston, joe budden, some soft jeweler) like anyone in that industry is trying to be on that lol just get the money

Star is a guy who’s said 1000times that he doesn’t **** with hip hop. And he’s been openly like this for years...so imagine him now. He’s trolling 95% of the time when he claims he “likes” some new artist or is up on them. They know it....and they always ask him to back up his statement....he avoids it....they catch an attitude....rinse and repeat .

Even if he doesn't mess with the genre I enjoy 80% of what Star contributes to the show. He has a variation of intelligence of the industry like Joe has. There are moments where he is trolling or opposing to oppose and those are the times where he loses me.

Glad to hear Gates and Boosie "beef" is over or whatever. I wonder if any of them know that Gates released an album last year while he was locked up, cause they was talking like he hadn't released since he was locked up

This is funny because if the roles were reversed, people would be behind Tax saying he had to do what he had to do because they like him and dislike Troy.

thats the problem troy and other rappers lock themselves into with these cartoonish street characters rappers create where any form of cooperation with the law is snitching no matter the context

the average person knows thats the smart decision but when you carry yourself like a certain type of ***** you make certain things off limits for yourself.

theres also the issue of him starting the altercation that led to his mans being bodied...

it was known troy was gonna take the stand damn near a year ago

I guess they couldn’t get the people who really know what happened to testify

I don’t see troy not rapping after this, he’ll still be doing what he does and still doing interviews saying how it was the realest choice he could make

no way a nih is gonna threaten me for 2 years, get my man killed and I do the time for him, I’d tell in the finest of suits

"A ***** that will pop & tell is a dangerous coward" - Jadakiss

Get this ***** troy off the streets man, ****** like this are just a different breed of *******. Ultimately he started this altercation, got his man killed, & is telling on a ***** while touting himself as a reincarnation of Tony Montana. The biggest kind of sucka ****** alive.

Troy confronted Tax, though.

Ultimately everyone in the situation played themselves, but fact of the matter is Tax got approached by Troy. This scenario could have played out totally differently if that never happened.

He started the altercation and now he telling :lol

Not that many was checking for him but he really don't have a shot no more after this.

Troy Ave would be a damn fool to not testify against Taxstone he doesn't owe that dude a damn thing.

And I can't stand Troy Ave.

And all you dudes pretending you wouldn't do the same thing are only trying to convince yourself.

IIRC there's 3 different DNA samples on the murder weapon right? Tax, Troy, and the other dude.

If you're Troy Ave and your options are "tell" or take the murder charge yourself...how exactly are you supposed to play that?

In the same manner that you portray yourself in any other event.

If you’re a civilian, be a civilian. No one who carries themselves as a law abiding citizen would be scrutinized for taking the stand.

But if a person is perpetuating this idea that they are a gangster living outside of law, that person ought to bear the consequences of being a gangster as they come, not try to scurry back to the civilian side when it’s convenient.

That gangster **** is stupid to me, btw.

Tax hasn't been charged by New York yet. He would be taking the stand in his own defense.

Man the most gangsta of gangstas is snitching nowadays and they have been since the beginning of time. This whole snitch/rat thing is beyond stupid if your the only one living by the code . If you dont want to get caught you need to be a better criminal.

Nobody is saying they personally wouldnt but nobody in here is a millionaire gangster rapper portraying themselves to be one way and then wants to be a civillian when a real situation takes place.

On top of that being just some off brand **** to do (be a civillian in your raps if you gonna be one on the stand)...how many lives have been ruined because little black and brown children with no guidance have listened to these rappers embed these codes in their mental operating systems that they themselves don’t even live by?

**** you if you’re telling black kids this poisonous **** you don’t even live by to make a buck and then switching up when it comes time to live by what you talk about. I’m sure prior to this situation Troy had a no questions asked cooperating = snitching policy that many young street ****** listening to him lived by (or would if Troy Ave was popping like that but you get what I’m trying to say).

I **** with what TI has become this decade but he is shakey IMO for doing this also if what they say about him cooperating is true. I think it’s confirmed he took the stand.

If this was Kanye or Chance the rapper this wouldnt even be a convo. Drake has paperwork you can Google right now.

But when you create this cartoon character who lives by these street rules and try to brush it off with “parents need to parent” (knowing a lot of kids in urban inner cities for all intents and purposes dont have that guidance for various reasons)...you deserve to be gotten out of the paint.

It's tough, you can't say what you would do and wouldn't do until you're in that situation.

I was raised not to tell on anyone and mind my business so I wouldn't want to tell but I also do everything in my power to avoid anything that will put me in a situation like this. I'm a grown *** man, I'm too old to be doing some of this kid **** they doing. Tax and Troy are older than me and shouldn't have done something that dumb.

Troy's rap career been done for a couple years now. He had that buzz and dropped a couple dope songs, I ****** with two of his albums but it's been real quiet for him for a while now.

Not to mention he even looks more the clown when you remember people saying Troy wasn’t eem “like that” prior to becoming a rapper. I remember they had some goofy *** nikname for him like “Chewy” or some **** someone knows what I’m talking about lol.

****** act like they can’t just rap about regular **** if you know thats not the type of time youre on. The idea that you gotta have gun bars or be Chance/Drake/Kid Cudi (the perception of being emotional and soft type rappers) is super harmful to the regular kids in between.
