Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Tax gonna come home in 5-20 and be loved no pun intended.

If Troy takes that stand, people already don’t like him and they will use that as even more of an excuse to get him the **** outta here.

He gotta play these next couple of moves right. If anything make some type of written statement no one knows about IDK how that **** works because I’m sure more ****** would be doing that. But he really in a catch 22 he should have left that alone that night. Dummy.

Tax copped out to the gun charge that the feds hit him with. If the judge throws him 10, which is conceivable since Tax has two prior violent felonies, he’s got to do 90% of that (9 years).

If he gets convicted on the murder, I believe in NY it’s 20-life.

I don’t think it’s looking good for dude.

But again, you have to take away the likability of a person if they really murdered someone.

I'm sorry but as I stated when it first happened...I have zero sympathy for either party in this situation.

Since everyone's so enamored with "keeping it real"...isn't this a case of "when keeping it real goes wrong"? Weren't both Troy and Taxstone being who they portrayed themselves to be? It don't matter who approached who when both dudes had been exchanging threats for a while before the actual incident. Taxstone is on record saying what he was going to do to Troy Ave when he saw him. They saw each other and "kept the same energy" as we always want ****** to do. ****** died and ****** went to jail. If that ain't living your raps I don't know what it is.

Everyone involved got what they deserved.

Nothing that you mentioned is in contention fam.

People are just calling Troy out because he’s snitching now that it’s convenient.

Any rapper in this situation is a fool not to snitch idc what someone on the internet is calling me after the fact.

Didn't 50 snitch on Murder Inc when he got stabbed in the studio? He went on to have a very successful life after that Troy will be just fine.

I wish I could see the statistics of people who become informants when facing charges.

Not to mention he even looks more the clown when you remember people saying Troy wasn’t eem “like that” prior to becoming a rapper. I remember they had some goofy *** nikname for him like “Chewy” or some **** someone knows what I’m talking about lol.

*****s act like they can’t just rap about regular **** if you know thats not the type of time youre on. The idea that you gotta have gun bars or be Chance/Drake/Kid Cudi (the perception of being emotional and soft type rappers) is super harmful to the regular kids in between.

This is what kills me the most, dudes can rap about the hood & their experiences, things they've been around w/o all the extra tough guy **** around it. I know plenty of ****** who have sold drugs out of being desperate or just being young & in the wrong crowd. May have done some dirt but they ain't fronting like they Kingpins, you can rep the hood/streets w/o that extra gangsta ****. It's not even the lyrics most of the time, it's the persona around it & how you carry yourself.

some of y’all risking y’all freedom and everything that comes with that (fame, money, family, etc) over some verbal “street” approval from other hood ******?

you missing the entire point on purpose.

Regarding street/snitching rules...

If you go on camera and drop the name of a person who allegedly sent people to harm you...is that snitching?

Only justification I can give it is if you live that street life you gotta follow them rules. I've never been street and ain't got no aim to be, I'm clearing my name if it's me in them shoes

the point we’re (or me at least) making is that ****** will acknowledge the stupidity of these rules when a situation actually goes down but then go right back to making music that perpetuates these same dumbass rules you wanted to pull the civillian card on. and not every inner city kid has parents or even the brainpower at that point in time to know that you’re portraying yourself to be one way and then living another way when that pressure comes.

and yes that is snitching and a lot of rappers have done that but at the end of the day who is trying to look out for their enemies.

these are the dumb *** rules that we’ve been locked into and you can arguably say that a lot of that comes from media that we create but not actually own or (truly) put out which sheds light on potentially a deeper agenda...

I’m pretty sure the real reason ****** don’t snitch is cuz they don’t wanna be harmed after the fact. If you got protection or live a rich ***** life style (rappers) they telling 100%

People still think these hood dudes who will rob a regular person walking down the street got honor like samurai or something

I was about to say just that. You tell on someone who goes as far as to kill someone else what you think is gonna happen to you?

You really doin dirt out there n****s will kill you if they even slightly feel like you'll rat em out.

Troy might as well get hit up for his jewels then id thats the case, not snitching wont grant him immunity.

Like I said before Troy and Tax are the same dude. They want to be involved in BS just for bragging rights. If it was different circumstances them _'s woulda been friends.

Man the most gangsta of gangstas is snitching nowadays and they have been since the beginning of time. This whole snitch/rat thing is beyond stupid if your the only one living by the code . If you dont want to get caught you need to be a better criminal.

Yes. The biggest drug dealers and mafia killers turn snitch. Troy ain't got no connection to Tax, of course he gon tell what happened.

Told my little cousin and his homeboy, they’re like 18 and 20, “even some of “realist” dudes fold, when the pressure on”

I be like just cause y’all consider yourselves “Street” dudes, a corporate or working class dude still can still throw hands, or a step forward, pop you too. I’m like, don’t get it twisted. Just cause someone look like a sweet lick, don’t mean it’s to be true.

Like y’all dudes only got juvenile rap sheets and been to youth prisons. Wait till you get adult chargers, and see how you change.

Either do your dirt by yourself, or keep that blame game up.

I don't think the situations is that cut and dry. But Troy painted himself in a corner.

You can't be saying Lito and Hovain are cowards for hiding and leaving and then get on the stand and testify.

Tax went after dude twice. Just like Tax was looking for him to make sure he didn't tell, he could have done the same for Banga and administer his own justice.

Troy is in a tough situation. He's a dickhead so I don't really feel sorry for him.

At the end of the day, normal ****** are to blame for all these street rules as well because we look up to them.

Come to think of it, didn't someone already try to off Troy? This dude is a maniac.

Troy should feel blessed he's come out alive in both situations and humble himself

Third time may not be so lucky

only if you're also involved in that lifestyle..if you're a civilian its fine.
