Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Idk, I wasn’t that into KING like that and Urban Legends had quite a few skips, imo. Trap Muzik is still his best work. Southern classic fasho.

I can play both Carter 1 and 2 without skipping any of the songs. Carter 3 is good but was disappointing as hell because of all the leaks. There was also a few songs that are easily skippable.

C2 is Wayne's best album and work. He had some direction, was actually saying something on those records. I always thought C1 is good but that got a lot of skips. C3 just aged terrible. The hype carried that album.

Trap Muzik, Urban Legend, King is a better run and Paper Trail is better than C3.

I hear you in those Carter Albums. Hard to discount the Dedication series (the first two) during that same time frame though. I think because of that I'll take Wayne.

Picking between Bird or Magic though...steak or lobster...hard to be wrong.

C1 is my favorite of The Carter joints. C3 had some tracks but it was disappointing. Especially considering what could’ve been. I got Tha Block is Hot as my second favorite album of his.

Hot Boy Wayne still my favorite of his run(s)

Carter 1 imo is his best album..C2 is good but has no direction,C3 is overrated…His releases prior to the Carter series are terrible.

Agree 💯

Nah...his mixtape game is what made him a rap superstar. Folks at up them Sqad mixtapes. Dedication is universally loved. Lollipop made him a superstar, no genre specifics needed.
Mixtapes made him hot in the streets
Carter 2 made him a rap superstar
Lollipop was hated by most people

Looking back Wayne's feature run is what really what made him a big name. That Loyd record, We takin Over, etc. The mixtapes and features in 06-07 was the build up to Carter 3. Once the album dropped the hype was ridiculous.
The Carter 2 was the foundation for all that

I was gonna mention his features too. He was in the right places at the right times.
