Real Deal College Football Discussion... no homers please

Miami had the incident where a player got shot and BM shot back (he has a gun license and wasnt charged with ).....and THATS IT

And that's just from this past season. You can't deny the fact that Miami has a rep for being a goon school, and it simply just didn't come out of nowhere.

You may have had an argument of Florida not putting out as many players in the NFL. Though the second you mentioned Gonzaga any hope for that went out the window.

Perception is these dudes reality, so why even go in about the issue. No need to even debate, every school is on the same level because there isnt a d1 school that would turn away any of those miami athletes if they wanted to play ball there. and EVERY school has their own issues. Believe that.

Who is purdue's QB this year? I'm really looking to playing them again this year after the 2 year lay-off.

Donovan Warren in the DB from Cali. He's gonna be good. I see him starting somewhere down the line this season. He'll probably get a lot of reps in against Appalachian (sp?) State. I hadn't seen him on campus before I left about a month ago, but I'm sure he's in town now.

Unfortunately Michigan has had its fair share of troubles with the law as well.

The reason why it can be argued that the SEC is the best conference is because there is more parity. In the Pac 10, USC has won twice as many championships as the next closest team which is UCLA. Alabama has won the most championships in the SEC, but there are 2 other teams that have within half of what Alabama has won. USC has won or shared the last 5 championships. If it's such a great conference in terms of depth and good teams, why can't anyone knock them off the top?
In the past 14 years ALL 10 teams in the Pac-10 have won the conference title...

Sounds like parity to me...

There is NO CHANCE that:

Ole Miss
Miss St
Kentucky
Vandy

...will win a conference title in the next 20 years...NONE!

Pac-10 is the top conference TOP to BOTTOM...SEC is ALWAYS and WILL ALWAYS be top heavy...

But everytime ESPN hypes the Pac-10, they choke.

USC against Texas

Cal versus UT. Tedford was supposed the world how great of an offensive guru he was. Your corners are still having nightmares of Ainge to Big Meach.

The year Cal was "snubbed" of playing in the BCS bowl games, which they were, they couldn't even beat Texas Tech.

The next year 10-1 Oregon fell to Oklahoma. Yeah I know now that you guys "won" this game, but whatever.

Why is it whenever you guys are snubbed from going to a BCS bowl game, you lose?

Anyone have the 2005 pre-season Top 25? Tenn and Mich were ranked like 2 and 3...right? Tenn finished 5-6 and Michigan didn't finish in the Top 25...NOW tell me there isn't bias in college football...SEC and "historical" universities will always be highly rated whether they deserve to be or not...
s to fall from grace they will most certainly be highly rated due to their past success. It comes with the territory. Where does this bias come from? A lot of it does involve money, but history is another large part. A history that the Pac-10 has failed to achieve.

Here are some interesting statistics:

This is the most extensive list I could find, but its from 2000. I do not think that the list would have changed by very much at all in the past 6 years (one would think USC, but another list will address that)

All I am saying is...Watch out for TCU to crash the BCS party...We are the best non BCS school in the Country!

THe defense was ranked #2 in the nation last year and its returning 9 starters.

why?

so u can get more skewered facts. or maybe u want random pac 10 rhetoric pasted out of soem west coast football article.

Comparing the amount 3 schools HOF members (UF, FSU, UM) to Pac 10 (an entire conference) is asinine. Especially when You consider the big 3 in florida didnt gain momentum and become great until the late 80s early 90s. So basically all of their great players are still playing professionally or just now retiring. so if you used your head, you would easily see that the the big 3 will soon have MANY HOF members. so all that past history garbage doesnt even begin to reflect the time period that we have lived thru, correct?

. Show up during the week to practice hard and produce on Sat and continue to do the same, and you will get some PT. This defense is gonna be very fast and active. I think they will gel by the time Jabba and his Domers come to town. I expect a 30 point beat down.
