Since you have to pass through NorCal to get to Reno, does anyone have any insight on what you can do there??
I'm heading up there in July and my GF and I have no idea what do. Of course, there is gambling, casino shows, buffet's, etc. But what else does the "Biggest litte city in the world" have to offer? I found out there was a zoo, but my GF turned that down in the quickness.

Any insight would be helpful.

I drive through there like once a month. There is a Nike outlet

I've gone fishing at a lake north of Reno too.

So, with the amount of feedback, there really is nothing to do in Reno. Haha, looks like I'll be swimming, going to the arcade (because i don't like to gamble), and go to the outlets. This is going to be a fail of a trip.

Have you guys driven through the neighborhoods surrounding Reno? Nice houses and such, but everything is dead.

the last time i went to reno it felt like a ghost town.

this was a couple years ago when the economy took a nose dive

You do not understand how many times I have been pitching this idea to my girlfriend. LOL. This weekend is going to be brutal. I wanted to go to Reno, but I was dragged into this trip because her parents invited me to tag along. SMH.
Wish me luck. If me and my GF have an argument during the trip, I'll definitely be going to a driving range to shoot off some machine guns. Haha.

I guess it depends on what you want to do in Reno. Circus Circus midway is always fun no matter what age. If you like to shop, Meadowood Mall is nice. The lower tax is also nice. If you like to bowl, there are plenty of bowling alleys in Reno. A nice one is at the Grand Sierra. Their arcade is also well stocked. Summit racing equipment is a close drive if you  need parts for your car. They have a nice waiting area for your gf if you decide to go.

Definitely check out Scheels in Sparks, NV (like a 5 minute drive from downtown Reno), it is one of the biggest sporting goods stores in the world, pretty good sports apparel selection (Teams, Jordan, Nike)...plus they have a ferris wheel in the store for your girl to ride haha

Some stuff to do in Reno
Scheels - Huge sporting goods store. Outlets are on the same property including Nike
Bowling - Grand Sierra has a nice bowling center
Century near the Atlantis is nice. Never crowded and you can kill daylight watching the movies you missed.
Roller rink near Circus Circus. Great for families.
Meadowood Mall - Standard local mall. FTL,FNL, Champs. Macys carries Stussy. Lots of gear ends up on the clearance racks because no one in Reno wears it. I always end up getting a shirt to wear for the rest of the trip because its dirt cheap.

Food
Boomtown Lobster Buffet - Its a hit or miss. I've had good/bad experiences but where else can u find a lobster buffet?
Awful Awful at The Nugget - If your eating at the hotel, your at the wrong one. Local gem and awesome burger.
Fatburger - If you haven't tried it, you got 2 spots in Reno or Tahoe. Tried it for the first time when I went last year. Been wanting to try it again.
Buffets are
ohwell.gif
but Atlantis and Silver Legacy is nice. I rather eat at the all you can sushi spots nearby

Haven't tried the shooting range yet. Will do next time i'm there
