All that pent up energy from the quarantine with an actual cause to channel the aggression, plus the added anonymity factor because of the virus is an interesting mix.

People aren’t just angry about police brutality, they’re fed up with this entire ****** system. 100k ppl died in 2 months from a virus because the government wasn’t prepared. Unemployment is at 25%. People still haven’t received unemployment benefits. Meanwhile billionaires continue to get richer.

This was the worst time for racists to be exposed. Normally, people of all races wake up and see this messed up police brutality story and get angry but gotta run to work. They gotta run to class. They gotta pick up their kid from daycare. The list of obligations goes on. But this quarantine gave black Americans the time to dive deep into the history of racism.
You'd be surprised how many people didn't know about Rodney King or Abner Louima, or how Hurricane Katrina was handled, etc. The internet allows you to catch up on decades of history in a few hours.

Totally agree bro. My younger brother showed me a tiktok and in the comments some kid said he didn't know who Osama Bin Laden was and hundreds of other tweens co-signed. 9/11 was less than 20 years ago and 13-14 year old kids are like "Osama who??" Too many parents wanna shelter their children, especially if they're white and don't wanna divulge into the horrific acts of White people throughout American history.
