Is it safe to use nail polish on mesh material?

I personally didn't use nail polish but the "goof off" didn't discolor the mesh.

Others have claimed they used nail polish remover with acetone without a problem.

In regards to "goof off",  be careful how much you use because "goof off" might leave a stain if over-used (something like a watermark)
