LaDainian Tomlinson's business manager confirmed yesterday that the Chargers running back turned down the opportunity to grace the cover of the John Madden '08 video game.
LaMar Andrews said EA Sports, which makes the popular Madden series game, wanted Tomlinson on the cover. An EA Sports spokesman had said Tuesday that Vince Young was the company's choice all along.

LT avoids Madden's curse ... for now


The Madden cover athlete is generally paid $100,000 to $200,000 and is required to make numerous promotional appearances.

Tomlinson's status (and compensation) as an endorser continues to rise. He was the NFL MVP and set the league scoring record in 2006, and he is to be featured in numerous national ad campaigns this year.

and SD New Era's keep getting sold.
 
I heard it was farily easy to get them...I think they were more readily available then most people thought...Luckily I got mine a few days ago so I didnt have to wake up and get out there to find out myself haha...

^ I was lucky enough to get one on Eastbay but I heard it was crazy at Fashion. Cops came to regulate and Footaction and Footlocker both did raffles and then everyone mobbed down to Nordstroms and blew them out with a lot of people going home without them. And not many other stores really got them and if they did they got a very limited amount. They always treat San Diego bad on big releases by giving us almost no product.
 
Im glad i didnt have to deal with that madness. After being on hold with eastbay for 30 mins i was able to get my pair.
