Shaq's rookie highlights dayum.

two words " holy +!! " . Shaq was a beast , sad to know hes trying to make the veteran minimum just to play in the league this year , Wish he was stile agile and well the same dominant 20 year we came to love and admire,

It's sad that Dwight doesn't have the skills that Admiral and Shaq had in their careers.

Co-sign. Look at Duncan, the Admiral took him under his wing and dude has been and still is a prominent big man in the league. Dwight better step it up.

The reason I don't give these young dudes any breaks when it comes to things like sports and music. Don't make excuses by sayin they young this and that. Shaq was younger than D12 in this footage and was a monster.  Kobe was good when came outta high school, same w/ Garnett, the most hated man in sports on #NT

dont forget, the nba changed league rules to try to limit shaqs effectiveness. how many players can you say the league changed rules for to try to balance it out for everyone else?

unfortunately we all know shaq could have been even greater than he was with all that skill. the extra weight changed his game, and being crowned as the most dominant ever also led to complacency and too much stroking of his own ego that it worked against him. it seems like once all these players believe they are actually the best, they regress.

Ehhhhhhhhh, more like Duncan took ADMIRAL under his wing,

.

Duncan came to that team and put them on the top, immediately. There was no adjustment for Duncan, dude came into the league and averaged 21/12/2 blocks. Doing the same thing he was doing at Wake.

Admiral might not have any wings (probably not) if it weren't for Duncan coming to town. People were HYPING up Duncan to the Celtics, but that's what the lottery is for, and it happened to roll into the hands of San Antonio.

Dude has been in the NBA for so long that some NTers are not even old enough to remember that time period. Crazy longevity.

No for real, are you serious? Do you even remember David Robinson before Tim Duncan came into the league? He was voted in the the NBA TOP 50 in 1996. He was already HOF bound. Duncan came into the league in 1997. What s stupid statement. Makes me wonder if guys in S&T really watches sports or just looks at stats and make statements.

^What is this sports you done talking bout?

But seriously. You can't make the statement that Robinson made Duncan's career or took him under his wing when Duncan was a beast from the get-go. There was no real transition for Duncan. Obviously, you can't say Duncan took Robinson under his wing because Robinson was already a player who scored 70+ in a game and won MVP. Tim Duncan was a special rookie and Robinson was already a special player coming off injury. Neither took the other "under his wing" unless you're talking about handling the media and all that. However, we all know Duncan has stayed the same way his entire career while Robinson was a little energetic in his interviews.

When I think of "under his wing", I think of Eddie Jones and Kobe and other similar situations where the underling didn't blossom so quickly.

^^BTW, that's the NBA Top 50 of All Time..

This was all he accomplished BEFORE Tim Duncan got there.

  • Only player in NBA history to win the Rebounding, Blocked Shots, and Scoring Titles and Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and MVP.

The only thing that's preventing me from calling Shaq the greatest C of all time is because of his lack of D. Not even once on the 1st team.

I didn't know they give MVP awards in the World Championships. I think they had Kemp, DC, Alonzo, 'Nique, Reggie, Thunder Dan on that squad

There should be no mention of Shaq and D12 in the same sentence. Shaq's rookie yr. alone trumps Dwight's career past, present and future.
