Great choice. Very simple and good quality, great beginner car.  Im still a rookie myself, I been doing this less than a year now, but Ill give you a lil advice.
-Go electric to begin. Gas cars are fun but take a lot of matainace.  If your a beginner all the tweaking and repairing could take the fun out of it.
-Try not to run while its cold outside. It makes the parts much easier to break (I learned the hard way... several times.).
-Be nice to the people at your local hobby shop, they will become your best friends.
-Learn the car.  The hobby shop can be expensive to change/fix parts. Do it yourself and you'll save a lot
-Find some people who are interested in it too.  It'll make things much more fun.

Good luck bro.  PM me in the future if you have any questions.

might get a new tv and buy a gaming console, and maybe plan a trip/cruise next year

i've gotten rid of 50% of my shoes, now getting out of debt and going back to school. much more important than shoes but when i do have extra cash it goes towards clothes and shoes that i'll actually wear.

I still buy shoes. Just not as much, I realized that a hobby and an obsession are two different things. I spend most of my money nowadays on food, movies, my gadgets, comics, and just clothes in general. I don't have one specific thing that I invest money In anymore
