Think about what ya'll expending energy on right now. Unnecessary on their part, but no way does it require this depth of analysis and furor.
The fact that we're overanalyzing this right now and not the quality of the film itself says a lot.

Another Symbiote Host From Marvel Comics Appearing in Venom

It’s been reported that the Marvel Comics character Ann Weying will be appearing in the upcoming Venom  film from Sony, which could mean some worrying times are ahead for Eddie Brock. There are a whole bunch of unanswered questions around the plot for this movie, but the presence of Brock’s ex-wife and her fate in the comics raises even more possibilities.

There has been a huge amount of interest in the development of Venom, especially since it was announced that Tom Hardy was taking the lead role. But ever since the spinoff went into pre-production, there was confusion about it how it would relate to the current events in the MCU and Spider-Man himself, especially with the current release of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Some little clarification has been made in that Sony spokespeople stated it would exist in the same “reality”, but not necessarily cross over (at least for the time being). Expectations were raised when it was also revealed that the main villain would be Carnage, one of the most vicious of Eddie Brock’s enemies and also clad in a symbiote suit (the offspring of Venom’s). However it now appears that another familiar character will feature in the plot, and one who is also prone to hosting a symbiote.

That Hashtag Show  has revealed that the comics character Ann Weying will definitely play a part in the plot of Venom. Weying first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #375, and she was a successful lawyer who just happened to be Brock’s ex-wife. Having a love/hate relationship with him, she even helped Peter Parker defeat him at one point, realizing that her once-partner had gone completely insane. However the character is probably best known for morphing into She-Venom aka. The Bride of Venom, when events conspired to bond her with the symbiote suit. The character then suffered severe emotional problems caused by her experiences both with the suit and with Brock, leading to a sad fate.

It should be noted that there is absolutely no evidence for supposing that this version of Weying will bond with a symbiote during the runtime of Venom. Still,  it would admittedly be pretty cool and a great plot twist for the unwary. At the moment, it’s not even been announced what form the symbiote suit will take in the film. It’s been suggested that it could be based on the Ultimate version of Venom, which originated from a protoplasmic goo designed as a cure for cancer, and not the alien Spidey suit that bonded with Peter Parker. That would be a quite neat way of distancing itself from the MCU and Spider-Man, whilst still possibly existing in the same reality. It would also give freedom to spin off in different and mature directions, especially as an R-rating for the film  has also been rumored.

There’s no news on any casting for Weying yet, and any conjecture on the direction for the character is pure guesswork at the moment. However, if the plot were to concentrate on the comics story-arc and her possible emotional and super-villain status, it could make for some compelling moments in the movie, especially if she spars with the intense Hardy. We’ll keep you up to date with further information on Venom as we get it.

It's because they made her look like ugly in the film.
You lost me here.

She looked good to me.

Yeah, she wasn't her usual pretty Zendaya self but that's cuz she was playing a role and they went for a certain look.

Especially in a HS setting the Michelle character is far from ugly. Just the low-key sarcastic cynical loner chick.

The MJ thing reminds me of "Robin" in TDKR  Cheesy af, but a cool nod to the character.

Doesn't bother me though.
YES. Its exactly that.

Its like if you're gonna make a new character, make a new character. That's what had me intrigued back when Marlon Waynes was gonna be Robin. That's bigger than just the first black Robin. Its a brand new Robin for a Batman movie. **** like that forces the comics and cartoons to follow suit.

Nolan honestly stopped giving a **** for TDKR. Lets have this young cop sorta figure out Wayne is Bats, lets follow him around a bit to play out the plot in the city, lets give him some connection with Bruce when he was younger cuz he's an orphan too - Now mind you up to this point none of this **** screams Robin except being an orphan. There is no former police officer Robin. - Anyway they call dude John Blake the entire movie. He clearly knows Bruce is Bats. He helps as an integral part in saving the city to an extent.

Then lets last minute make him the heir to Wayne everything, show him in the batcave and have some woman name drop that his actual first name is Robin. The ****? Nolan showed no creativity there. **** was so on the nose it was insulting  A Robin named Robin? C'mon son.

That's the avenue Feige and Pascal are on. Difference is Nolan didn't give a **** and was on his way out. Never had any intention for some JGL Bat/Robin/Nightwing movie. In the MCU, we gotta spend 3 maybe 4 more movies with them lying about Michelle and Mary Jane up until she says her catch phrase.

If they want to put the swerve on us now, introduce MJ in the sequel. Make her Peter's gf. Then have Kraven bury her alive.

They should have had Flash say, "they call me Pavitr".
 That's a can of worms b.

Could you imagine the amount of Spiderverse carp theories you'd have to wade through?

Not to mention why introduce him as Flash

Well damn

It accomplishes a lot of things. Makes Kraven the baddest *** villain in comic book movies, gives Peter an on screen personal loss that is so vital in his development and in general the never ending Spider-Man adventures, and it kills all of this Michelle is MJ talk asap. Solidifies she's her own character.

Michelle would be there for him in an awkward way in the aftermath. Up to them at that point if they want to make them a couple.

I'm cool on that. The Michelle is MJ talk is already dead because Feige confirmed it himself. I see her taking on the role of her knowing or Peter telling her that he's Spiderman just like in the Ultimates, and occasionally helps him out and **** like that. And Mary Jane can swoop in similar to her 616 way of doing.

The thing is, she said call her "MJ", they're not gonna go back to calling her Michelle and their isn't gonna be another character they'll call MJ. I just don't see why they won't go all in and back Zendaya. Like she was doing all the press with Tom Holland and was even on the poster. They clearly intend for her to be Mary Jane

not really, stop reaching dude

movie is already widely loved, you gon' get people to turn the way your going

^^ What do you mean though? I mean she said call her MJ why would they have people in the film as well as the audience go back to referring to her as Michelle? Plus this is a very minor nitpick, it has nothing to do with the quality of the film

She wasn't ugly in the film man. Nobody is gonna agree with you on that.

this part...

They clearly wanted her to be Michelle and that MJ just happens to be a dumb decision on their part, which many assumes is a jab to the audience thinking she was MJ.

And yes I do see them calling her Michelle in the sequel and wouldn't be surprised if Mary Jane Watson appears somewhere in Hollands tenure as Peter.

You keep "assuming" and reaching and won't just simply accept what the producers or directors ever say, it's like dude they said she isn't Mary Jane, really should be the end of it by now but you keep reaching.
