Does chronological order matter with the novels?

Not necessarily. The aftermath ones I would read in order though.

Dark Disciple and Lost Stars are my favorite. Lords of the Sith, Tarkin and Bloodline were good as well. Currently reading Battlefront: Twilight Company which is ok and the Ahsoka novel just released yesterday so I have that up next. There's also a Rogue One novel coming out next month by James Luceno who did a lot of the old now considered "non canon" SW books. Some of the comics are also excellent, the Han Solo one and Darth Vader (which just ended) are top notch.

At this point in 2016 why not? There is really nothing proving that these characters have to be white men to make people go and see the,. The public is demanding it and studios are taking notice.

As a father of two little girls this is awesome that they can see themselves as the heroes and focus of something.

Ben Mendelsohn is so good
