STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

I've learned to love to do squats....dudes get caught up in all this heavy *** weight...do 150 air squats a** to grass and tell me how your legs are feeling the next day, probably more destroyed than squatting 300lbs+ for 15 reps and not even FROM
I mean I could go run a half marathon and my legs would be sorer tomorrow than if I squatted, but what am I accomplishing there if my goal isn't to run half marathons?
You're just trying to be a contrarian here.

On Front Squatting, you want to rack the bar on your delts first and foremost. The wrists are secondary.

sigh.....

Any tips on working legs without gaining a ton of size? I'm not really into the big quads and thighs look, but I wouldn't mind gaining some strength for quickness and a higher vert for basketball. Should I just go for more weight and lower reps on squats and lunges?

Do a combination of strength + explosive based exercises.

Heavy squats on one day then plyometrics on another.

i cannot get jiggy with this ****.

For me, I've found that sleeping on my stomach causes more lower back pain than sleeping on my back. I've been sleeping on the couch the last couple of weeks on my back and the lower back pain I used to get during soccer, running, and working out has really gone down. Try placing a pillow under your pelvic area and see if that helps. Might be a bit annoying, but could help you keep that back neutral.

Thanks for the advice guys. Slept on my back and felt a lot better today

First day back after 3 weeks off for a gyneconastia surgery. Promised myself I'd take it easy my first day back. Couldn't help myself and ended up doin about 10 sets of squats. Not gonna be able to walk tomorrow.

Air squats my dude?

Set a time shoot for 150 in 4 minutes that **** will have you take your grandpas walker the next day...but I see what ya mean about building mass....definately right....I was sort of referring the homies who pass on squatting at all because they can't load heavy weight

I had the same surgery some years back, be careful bro, don't rush back into anything....I underestimated how traumatic the surgery would be, I thought id be in and out and ready to work in 3 days max, I couldn't even push my computer around the hospital.

i think the suggestion of air squats are for the ones who struggle with mobility and to reach full range of motion.

This also....lots of benefits to air squatting...however putting on mass is not one of them and I guess that's why all you SWOLLLLL fellas laughing...lol

But I can bet ya implement them and perform them properly, your hips will open up more, allowing ya to benefit from your heavy loaded squats much more.

Surgeries suck, when its time to get back to the gym you're never 100% in some exercises. I stopped doing serious about work for almost 2 years cause I thought something would happen after I had my appendix removed then a few years later a bowel obstruction. :{
