I agree with K2. I recently took up spinning in the afternoon with my friend's wife. The first session had me DYING.
It's not one of those bicycles by the treadmill where you program stuff. This one is more mechanical. It simulates mountain biking. You sit on it, justlike a mountain bike..with different hand positions on the handle bar. There is a knob that increase/decrease resistance and when you push down, it comes to astop.
The session is around 1 hour. But you do varies speeds/positions. And it's rated by songs...so the instructor will have fast/slow pace songs to accompanythe pace.
If you're going on the regular basis, I would look into mountain biking shoes with cleats. There's been times where my feet felt unstable like theywere slipping out when I was standing up and spinning fast.
