Agreed. We are talking about the dead beat dads who have 10 children to 9 women or the women who have 6 children by 5 different dudes.

Those children barely have a chance of making something of themselves and will only continue the vicious cycle probably.

When I look on FB and see girls I went to school with 28/29 and have like 4-5 kids by a couple different guys and they are working in Wal-Mart or something like that

I know people that sell their food stamps for cash too....I mean if I can get $200 worth of groceries for $100....

What a sad state our world is in when people stop having kids for financial or most any other reason.

Sadly, many kids are born into broken homes with parents who don't love them or want to care for them. A child deserves a mother and father in its life. What a terrible thing it is to bring kids into this world and let them fail. I tell you what, man... If more children were born to a loving mom and dad, the world would be a much, much better place than it is now.

I'll probably have three or four kids in the next 15 years. I really believe having a family is one of the greatest things a person can do in their lifetime.

A loving family is the greatest thing anybody can ask for. No amount of money, fame, or material things can replace the place of a family in somebody's heart.

I work for the local government, case management. She's been on my case load for about 3years. Not willing to take a screen shot and risk my job, but trust me, it's very real. She'll be 30 in May. Totally shocked myself when I first got this case.

We basically in the same situation as you guys. We are 28 and 29 is about the only thing different, other than the combined salary range is slightly different as well.

A lady talked to my wife because she used to say she wasn't having a kid until we would be financially stable to do it. The lady told her, "You guys both have degrees, travel, have nice cars, own a home and have savings and retirement plans....what more do you need to do to be stable?" She also told her that you will never be 1000% ready to take on the financial burden of a child, so you pretty much would never have one with that mentality. You will always have a house, want to buy another house, have a car, get a new car, save for a trip, have an emergency come up and you need to spend money you didn't intend to, or just anything in general that could be an excuse for you to say that you aren't financially ready.

Nobody should be able to dictate who or how many children a person can have, but there should be things in place if people want to prevent themselves from having children.

good point...you are never ready.  You could spend your whole life trying to get ready.  I am glad I had kids when I did.  Even thinking about having another one.

This is so true man. When some of my friends ask me how is to have a kid, I tell them the truth. It is tiring, can be stressful, sleepless night and an adjustment overall to how me and the wife operate, but one thing for sure is, I would never trade him for anything in the world. It truly is a blessing to have a child. Everyday I look at him and just smile at him. It is true about one of things that you can't describe perfectly, you just have to experience it.

To me, I always think that having a child should make someone grow up, take responsibility and make something of themselves for their kids. Sadly, a lot of the time this is not the case anymore. I mean I know people that still live at home with their parents/grandparents with multiple kids. Then they either have visitation with them every other week or they are there all the time taking up space. Get your own place man

. I don't want to hear about how expensive it is when you still can buy yourself Jordans/Lebrons/Timbs/etc for you and your kids, but still living at home.

For one a lot of countries are running out of fresh water. Desalination is an option but it's expensive due to the amount of energy is needed to process it.

Food will also be an issue. Sure we an excess food in the states but places like Cali are running out of fresh water and they produce a lot of the crops that we eat and sell on my he world market. Other countries are having the same issues

It's not necessarily that there's too many people and not enough resources. It's more so what resources we are using and our practices in which we obtain said resources.

Clearly we have the technology to move away from our current practices. Such as burning fossil fuels, methane emissions from animal production, deforestation, and the overuse of chemical fertilizers on croplands. But the government and the corporations that control this government have too much money invested in these practices and stand to lose damn near all profits if our society changes its direction to a more sustainable approach.

The ironic part is if we keep this up there won't be a society to make a profit from. We'll be extinct.

It's estimated that by the year 2050 there will be NO FISH in the ocean and NO bee's on the planet. Fish extinction has to do with our consumption of fish and the practices that catch the fish. Bee extinction is attributed to stress from constant transportation from farm to farm as well as the pesticides we spray all over these crops.

Without Bee's and without fish, we simply cannot survive.

Funny that humans think we're the most important species because we can manipulate nature and are creators, but something as "insignificant " as worms and bees are far more important to our survival and the planets survival than we are to them. Without us, the Earth survives. Without Earth, we don't survive. Without Bees, we don't survive. Without worms, we don't survive and so on and so forth.

All of this is very preventable. We just have to let go of certain attachments "customs" and make a few adjustments in our lifestyle. These corporations that are destroying this planet don't survive without our money.

Even now you don't need prescription for it, I don't believe. I think you just have to ask for it at a pharmacy. You talking about they going to sell it right beside some DayQuil and Tums though?

What does where you're living have anything to do with anything?  Let people live where they want.  And since you want to know my situation I haven't lived with my parents since I was 18, I have kids and yes I have some $200+ pairs of shoes although I'm sure most on this board have more than I do since I've become a minimalist the last couple of years and stopped making clothes and shoes purchases like I did in my 20s
