Storing Sneakers in my basement

So I just moved into this huge house, and it has a finished basement.  I have an area with racks where I'm storing my sneakers, but my friend told me I'm going to need a dehumidifier come summer to keep my shoes fresh if not they'll mold.

Can you please help with how to safely store my sneakers in the basement?

You do need a dehumidifier if your storing your sneakers in a basement.  If not they will mold over time if they're just sitting. You can store you sneakers in individual plastic bags to keep them fresh.  Also keep those silica gel packets and ensure each of your shoe boxes got them in it.
