They're still fake, if Nike doesn't authorize it, it ain't the genuine article.
The investigation started March 5 when Nike revealed its private team of specialized investigators conducted a “discreet” probe. According to investigators“grey-market” products are made from real or potentially stolen components outside of authorized Nike factories.
If you have grey markets in your collection your collection ain't valid
Hell no, I be selling kicks to themHope u never copped on fordham w/ da habbies selling early, or any spit that sells jewelry, kicks, and cellphones at da same damn time...cuz you'd be in for a rude awakening.
Grey markets are Illegal..because nike didn't authorize their manufacture, doesn't mean it DIDN'T come straight thru them via illegal channels...
They JUST said themselves.
Lemme requote it.
Thats coming Straight from Nike. What else needs to be said?
At this point, if you dont even believe da folks at Beaverton then i can't help you .
They might use the same materials and be coming from the same place but the same quality isn't there.
Hold up.. NINJAHOOD is back! Da heights is back in business.
no, you don't. you're not worthy it to pick up da Mjölnir LOLunderstanding da nuance of da situation is very important, im not defending da events, i just want da story to be told properly.
Lumping everything as "meh fake" and not giving it a second look to why its happening is a very lazy view of it.
Quality ≠ legality
Cuz a grey market could literally mean who's LEGALLY able to produce da same exact shoe.
Think of Thor's Hammer...if you're authorized factory then you pick up da Mjölnir..if u aint got Nike's Blessing then you can't... Or at least you're not supposed to.
If Capcom developers decided tomorrow it was going to make Marvel Vs Capcom 4...without Disney's consent, they'd essentially be making a grey market product, doesn't matter that they actually created da first 3 of em and you didn't have to worry about playing a quality product, because since Disney hasn't Green lit it, Capcom profiting from such a Game would be illegal.
Thats where grey market kicks fall under legal jurisdiction.
You sound mad though. All they said is that the sneakers are coming from the same factories using the same materials. That doesn't make them authentic however. We've seen this time and again, these grey market sneakers are convincing to the untrained eye but once you really put em up against the genuine article the devil becomes apparent in the detail.
Or in your words, da proof is in da pudding.
We saw the Nightwing CG XI dissection vid.
And all the sneakers since that have been proven fake when put under greater scrutiny.
They might use the same materials and be coming from the same place but the same quality isn't there.
They're fake man. As hit or miss as Nike's quality control is, them fakes are far, far worse.
One thing I never got about you. You yourself say you only cop from authorized retailers and stay away from mom & pop spots around the city. Yet you still go extra hard with this grey market stuff. You'll cosign the stuff but you won't touch it.

Now how in the hell does that make them fake? They're made by the same people who make the "authorized" versions, using the same exact techniques, materials in the same exact location......But because Nike authorized 100 pairs to be made and somehow 200 were made those extra 100 are now fake?

Misinformed author
Grey markets are fake, they are nothing but high quality fakes that aren't a lot of times 98% exact in terms of look, and quality. Still off and made in some factory in China with mostly inferior materials
I've seen them in hand for the most part, not recently tho. Fakes probably got better but they are fake. Don't care what ninja says. He's called them basically legit for a long time and he's entitled to his opinion
This is lumpia
View media item 1990761
you may have heard of it. It is basically a filipino eggroll.
it is delicious.
My auntie lenore makes exceptional lumpia. The best lumpia you ever had.
She has a store with workers that make da lumpia using her recipe and her ingredients.
they take alot of orders. Alot.
so lets say they get an order if 1000.
They were off with the measurement for the ingredients of that particular order so they have 100 extra.
Well arlene decides to take those extra 100 and sell them to her friends.
Her friends eat them and sure enough they taste exactly like my auntie lenores lumpia. Because they were made with the same ingredients using the same recipe.
The proof is in the lumpia indeed.
unfortunately so is the crime.
That's a true grey market or third shift product - but I'm convinced that's the minority of fakes, and mostly it's a rumor put about by those who make fakes to legitimise what they do.
Authorized or not doesn't have anything to do with if they're genuine - they're illegal, but authentic.
The rest are fake and they are just poor replicas. Maybe there's a stolen mold here and there but they're counterfeit materials and manufacture.
