TEAM AIR FORCE 1 VOL. 6 AKA STOP PM'ING US

Hey Matt,
When I saw your name next to a comment quoting me, I knew it would be some nasty response.

Let me correct your statement for you.

1) I tried to buy 1 size 10 pair off you (that is all)..  Oh and I heard you dished 800+ dollars for that pair because of your own selfish interest in starting a bid war with a friend who showed you the pair in the first place.

2) I don't wear size 10.5 and I never tried to get size 10.5 pair from you.

3)  90% of my collection is size 9-9.5.  I own ~4 size 10 pairs.  I own 1 size 8.5, the black and red jewels.  3 pairs got listed on ebay for 60 bins last year.  Would you say no?  Seeing as how you'd pay 13x that for a pair, i'm going to say no.

4) Many many many collectors collect within 1 full size range.  Say 9-10.  My range is size 9-10.

5) No my foot is not expandable.

6) I'll be posting my collection up soon, you can view it and let me know if my collecting style still confuses you.

first of all, you call me mr. pearson.  second of all, you have no idea what you are talking about regarding those goldenrod jewels - regardless of whether you had a conversation with mr. paul, or not.  third of all, you rub me the wrong way, and your comment about AF1's "losing their value" really put me over the top.  you make it blatantly obvious that you are just a college kid looking to gain respect on a message board through the purchase of shoes, acting like you know everything about AF1's even though you haven't been around long enough to know much of anything at all.  fifth of all, i would not pay that much for just ANY pair - rather, only for the one pair that was clearly my grail (as the OG posters in this thread will attest to), to complete my holy trinity, which i had been searching for since before you even knew what an AF1 was... show me some other DS pairs in my size, and i will admit that i overpaid for my grails.  but regardless of whether i overpaid or not - that's not the point, because unlike you, who obviously chooses to place particular values on particular pairs of shoes, that pair was priceless to me.
just because you've been posting a lot in this thread a lot lately, don't get it twisted - i was here WAY before you.  show some respect for your elders, son.

to the rest of you - sorry you had to witness this rant - you won't see much of me in here anymore.  this makes me remember why i took such a long hiatus in the first place.  things have definitely changed, to the opposite of my liking.  DK (if you're still creepin'), Kazi, Steve, Jerm (to name a few in particular), and others (you know who you are) - you will always be my boys, and you know where to find me.  holler at me any time.

to end on a positive note, even though i have probably posted these to death in the many occurrences of this AF1 thread:

and a really old bonus pic - i no longer own a few of these:

sorry again for those who had to witness this against their wills - but i am positive that i am not the only one who feels this way!

Hey Matt,
I rub you the wrong way?  Why because my offer on those jewels wasn't high enough?  My offer was more than reasonable.

First off, I'm quite respectful to those who have been here longer than me and this is my first time ever having a confrontation in this thread.  I know for a fact you have had many confrontations and a lot of people here (including the "OGs") do not like you at all.  I did a lot of research before making an offer on those goldenrod jewels and every person I spoke to made some sort of reference to the negative type of person you are.  You may be one of those people who thinks people are their friends, giving shout outs like your big farewell to this thread really matters to anyone, but in reality it doesn't.

Second, I've been collecting sneakers for about ten years and have been collecting air force ones for almost three.  The fact that you can fault me for getting into the sneaker at a later time than you is hilarious.  On top of it you sold out years ago so your actual time "being devoted to the air force one" is not so much different than mine.  I put in work almost every day and a few people here can support me on that.

You realize you collected these sneakers when they were a lot more mainstream a few years ago then decided to cash out before you lost the money you invested in them.  You call yourself a true collector like the air force one owes you something.  Son, I do my homework and know how "passionate" you are.

"OGfiend was on point when he said that AF1's are dying. While thinking about it last night, I realized he could not have made a more accurate statement.  - I have crazy heat for sale in rare sizes, and I am selling it all for cheaper than I paid for it, but the market is dead.  No one wants to buy ANYTHING.  I am going to liquidate my collection while I can still get a little of it.  I don't want to be left high and dry when the market dies completely.  Basically, while I still love my collection, it is still an investment, just like any other collection.  And I believe it is time to cash out" - MFPearson

Way to get your entire assault on me completely derailed.  The air force one is de-valueing and you seemed to agree with me a while back when you made those statements.  You collected when the hype was there and cashed out when the hype died.  I'm still here buying on a regular basis even though no one except a select few of us cares about these sneakers.  Some of us will be around for a very long time buying, at cheaper prices, because the flakes like yourself have moved on to other things.

Keep calling those goldenrod jewels your grails when you have them available for sale.  You brag to me about how you had an "unlimited budget" when it came to sneakers and I know you have a respectable job.  Let me break it down for you: the sneakers are for sale because they don't really mean much to you.  It's really like you are a veteran athlete salty towards the newer players just because you feel they owe you something because of how long you've been around.  If you knew what respect was, you'd receive it.

Oh and i'm pretty sure 95% of this thread would take Pauls word over yours.  He's a legend around here dude and i'm pretty sure you were up his butt most of the time.

"Paul, if you do get rid of those goldenrod jewels, they'll go to me right? Please?" - Laughable

By the way, even at a normal size scale.. most of us don't want to see your recycled pictures for the 4000th time.  Some contributor.

I hope you don't run into me in a courtroom one day son - you insult me with ignorance, I respond with facts.

AF1s are going nowhere, they are the best selling Nikes out there. Albeit, Nike has bastardized the shoe.  They should have kept the releases limited and the quality on point.  But they are a company that is out to make money... people demanded AF1s and they are giving us AF1s.  The market for older AF1s is dead mainly because the numbers aren't there anymore.  It is hard to have a market for something that doesn't exist.  Which kills me because I have a laundry list of AF1s that I am still looking for.  I look for AF1s and finding older pairs in my size is very hard.  I said it before, the shoes are worth what the buyer is willing to spend, nothing more, nothing less.  And the demand for older AF1s will always be there for those of us who know what they are and what we want.  PROOF?- The frenzy this board went into when that dude on ebay sold all those jewel AF1s.  DAMN I wish I got those size 11.0 Indy jewels!  But then you get those that "disagree" (to say it politely) as witnessed in the demise of our old thread.  I put a decade into building my collection and the passion is going nowhere, as is my collection.  Anyways... ... more pics... ... ...

I agree with you 8, I am willing to pay a lot for some of these pairs.  Of course the AF1 is going no where, but the market is pretty dead.
Proof to your proof, with all the hype of those jewels on ebay last year.. no pair ever exceeded 250 shipped.. most ended in the 100s.  The first pair ended for 60 + shipping.  I won two pairs.

Which proves what I said, they are worth what the buyer is willing to pay.  He had a lot of random sizes, if I had known those 11.0s were just going to disappear or if he had others in my size, I would have been willing to pay for them.  And if I could have got any for under 250, that would be even better.  I don't really see the market as dead, but the reseller hype has been eliminated.  You used to be able to pick old AF1s up for cheap, then came the boom and price hike and like all things, the market corrected itself.  Pic... ... ...
