Yooooo, you are tripping now. So the fact that Mayor has money is a negative? I got money. And what?
The love for sneakers didn't start when I had money. It started when I was a kid who's family couldn't afford more than one pair at a time so I had to keep them clean forever. I started wearing sneakers from Fayva, not Nikes.
If he gets free stuff, so what? You don't like free stuff? Dude said he's had 5 pairs of Linens in an interview I saw. So he CLEARLY has an awareness of older forces. They mention Black Lows with a Wine Swoosh in the article. And my guess is he's tight with Clark because he's a passionate AF1 lover, not the other way around.
Until they go through EVERY box in that dudes collection, or you know his full history, how you can judge it, or him?
I was thinking about this. Even though a love for AF1's unite us all, there are differences between us.
I own no hyperstrikes. I can't remember seeing one that I cared to own enough to chase it and pay for it. And I don't buy sneakers for a display case or a table.
I own no jewels. Jewels were frowned upon around my way when they released. Just don't like it. The Jewel swoosh looks like something that would be on a Women's sneaker to me. I prefer the full Swoosh because it is usually a point of color contrast on the sneaker, and the more of it there is, the more I like it.
I own no canvas AF1's. I had the Blue lows that came out in the US a while back. But I just prefer a clean, leather sneaker. Or maybe a mix of materials like Acorns.
As far as the Crocs go, maybe he likes them. It reminds me of the "gator" dress shoes that I've seen dudes wear with suits. Now, I would never wear lime green "gators" with a suit. But some people do and like them. So maybe Mayor is cut from that cloth.
We all come from different places. My background is urban New York City. So my tastes might not coincide with an AF1 lover from Japan, or Cali or wherever.
