ha. yea, I figured there weren't many of us. are you a geologist by education/profession? while my education is in geology, I am an environmental consultant by profession. there aren't a lot of jobs in true geology these days. so I'm stuck with cleaning up leaking underground storage tanks, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, asbestos, and all sorts of other good stuff.

Yeah, my degree is in geology but my job is more in the engineering realm. I'm a field geologist for a civil engineering firm, so I do mostly rock andsoil sampling/classification, drilling, groundwater observation wells, and other geotech stuff.

I hear you on the lack of real geology positions. Do you work for an environmental firm, or do you do your own thing?

Jake - hillarious pic, i love that "i'm on a boat" song.....all those songs everyone mentioned are from agroup three dudes called "The Lonely Island"...they are 3 actors/writers from the SNL crew...they got an album out with all those songs...album iscalled "Incredibad"....if you want a great laugh...check it out.

^ Becareful with that brush that comes with Jason Markk guys... I turned a pair of grey/pink/gold AM1s into tennis balls with that crap...

Go to a shoe repair shop (or here in Texas we go to boot repair shops) and get one of those nice soft horse or hog hairs brushed... Use that and take your timewith it and you get alot better results...

Cris - I want those IDs badly!!!! Can we get Rick Moranis to "Honey, I blew up the IDs to a sz 13!" ????

Word... I use the foam pump and that soft brush I was talkin about... fast dry minimal saturation... quick stain removal...

A lot of talk about cleaning kicks:

IMO nothing works better on suede than a good brush, and an eraser. If you get too much "tennis ball" after effect use a fabric shaver.

For tough stains on leather, mesh, or whatever else really hot water, laundry detergant, and a toothbrush have always done what I need them too. Goo Gone workswonders on midsoles, and about anything else as well.

I'd been hunting for a pair of Bursts to replace the ones from 03 that I've just destroyed, and found a pair pretty similiar on E-Bay recently. Theycame in pretty beat, but with a bit of love they turned out pretty clean.

I still haven't gotten the toe-boxe's as clean as I'd like them, but haven't spent any time on that area just yet.

All in all..............my Best $11 pick-up ever!!!
