Damn Matt sorry on how the show went. Rain never stops me. I went to Megadeth at Sunken Garden in 20 degree weather and it was raining. What sucked the most is it is outside. There is no covering so we all got wet and froze like hell but it kicked %##.Originally Posted by matttherippersanchez
We played last night at a barn a friend of the band owns. Usually the parties rock ++* and the place is packed, but unfortunately, because people are scared of water, not as many people showed up. It really had stopped raining a few hours before we loaded in (around 7), and two of the bands dropped off leaving only us, and Betrayal by Truth, the band we share a jamroom and a drummer with. So we each played our sets, and I was pretty buzzed by the time we played, and let me tell ya, they failed miserably with the stage lighting this time around cause there were several spots I couldn't see %@$#, and with only one show with the 8 under my belt, it was a bit of an uphill battle. We made it through just fine, and ended up partying it up with the dudes from BBT and a bunch of other folks that came out. Now gentlemen, here is a pro tip. Tequila is the devil. Don't ever, ever, ever take a shot of tequila, then eat a pair of 711 tequitos, and then take another shot of tequila. You will vomit behind a tree, and ants will bite your ankles. I took a break from drinking, but resumed after about twenty minutes to get my mind off the incessant itching on my legs. So here's the scoreboard.
9 band members between the two bands (actually 8. Our bass player is exempt because he doesn't drink and left after we played)
5-10 people who drank at our section of the party after our set
1 750 mL bottle of Jagermeister
1 750 mL bottle of Patron Silver Tequila
1 750 mL bottle of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey
1 1.75L bottle of Canadian Mist Whiskey
1 750 mL bottle of some sort of Vodka (wasn't any that I was familiar with)
1 375mL bottle of Hpnotiq (my personal bottle I carried in my shorts haha)
3 24 pack cases of Budweiser
1 12 pack of Shiner
1 12 pack of Guinness
And as of 4am, all of it was gone. The only thing we had left were a small selection of the mixers, Coke, Sprite, Red bull, Redline, etc., and a %@$# load of water and ice. Like I said, our bass player didn't join in the festivities, and our singer is mostly a beer drinker. Janice, a friend of the band supplied all of the liquor and mixers, stored in a massive cooler in the back of her Nissan truck. The part that sucked the most, aside from the vomit behind the tree and the ants, was digging into that cooler to find a mixer, ala bobbing for apples. I put each of my hands in there, nearly freezing them off, before she realized she had a can of Red Bull right next to her. It was a crazy, crazy night.

funny, i have more time on my hands than ever and i dont post as much as when i was in school
anyways, matt, looks like you had quite the night over there. im more of a beer drinker myself since im a small guy. i prolly would have died if i drank as much as you guys. at least i dont turn red like my asian counterparts though. rain hardly stops me, but then again we never have outdoor shows here. last year atheist was at a festival and it ended up raining so they moved it to the worst venue in the cityi never went
and bcf, i am excited, i cant freaking wait. im at the office 7am-5pm everyday in order to save money. i just bought my camping #!@% on the weekend and it was od expensive
anyways, listening to grooveshark.com at work right now. the radio isnt as organized as last.fm nor do they have the selection but you can pick and choose what you play. last.fm>grooveshark though, by far
iron maiden all day. whenever i go to a wicked show i tend to listen to that band for the next week or so
Nice to hear from you Rust. But damn dude you know we need a review of the showOriginally Posted by yeahitsRUST
So long hiatus due to my California vacation. Had a blasty blast at the Maiden show. Is it just me or do they get better with time? Like a fine wine perhaps?
Ive been jammin to Maiden a lot cause of the show.
Also:
Casino Madrid
Asking Alexandria
Cannibal Corpse
And on a more morose note... RIP to my Ipod ive rocked with since 2006. Sucks cause I had it maxed out at 112.83 gigs. A lot of that music was rare stuff that I havent been able to find ever again since I first ran across it. I knew I should have backed that sucker up to an exteral drive... SMH. Oh well, the uphill climb to fill up another 100+gigs is going to be fun. I hope.

I hope it doesn't break down soon.
