Yeah, I've been playing guitar for 2 years now.
I got my first guitar when I was 12 and never used it, Then when I turned 16 I bought a old Squier from my friends shop, haven't put it down since.

Honestly I don't like the melodic/breakdown bands because when I hear it the cliche of "You hear them one, you hear them all" comes up. In my opinion the breakthrough band that launched this genre would be The Devil Wears Prada. I compare all other similar bands to TDWP and their not as good. Don't get me wrong I have TDWP albums and Dez Moines is my most played song on my iTunes. But as knowledgeable as I am with the guitar, the riffs tend to be generic and I

when super slow breakdowns happen in a song several times. Drums tend to be simple and easy. (I'm a sucker for super fast double bass). I listen to certain bands because they go harder, better, faster, stronger. I watch European soccer because they go harder, better, faster, stronger than American MLS. Catch my drift?

No offense to you or your interests. just an opinion, much respect and love to you and the NT fam here, maybe you can change my opinion about this later.

none taken. i tend to agree with the cliche, but there are bands that do certain things better than others. those are the ones i lean towards, even if its just one riff or one off time breakdown that keeps me checking them out expecting to hear more.

im kind of surprised you're using TDWP as the bar. dont get me wrong they are a decent band, ive seen them enough to get tired of them and "Texas Is South" and "Scorpion Death Lock" are still

but there are better bands from a few years ago when they peaked.

Welcome John! I think you and I are possibly the only two in here who dig the breakdown haha. I Killed The Prom Queen was dope until one of their dudes passed...

^^Lol when I worked the county they tried blocking youtube and facebook. After a workers revolt they decided to unblock it. Im just glad I was the only person who surfed NT because nobody knew what they were looking at when they walked by and saw the blk.red haha.

i hit facebook on my phone so its not that bad. as long as i can check my fantasy teams and NT im good.

btw old Bury Your Dead got me through the gym after work yesterday

where you dudes from?

^San Diego born and raised for the majority of my life. But unfortunately ive been in Western North Carolina for the past two years.

What about you?

Brooklyn NY since day 1. our music scene sucks. alot of good touring bands skip over NYC these days. very few local bands worth keeping up with.

from the Bay Area, locally we got a lot of good bands, one just got signed to InVogue records, but there's more 'crabcore' then metal over here.
eyes.gif
Berkeley and Oakland still hold punk down though
Concert wise we don't get the best selection since LA is down the street and vortex in all of the good bands concerts

bratz...full team metalheads membership will not be granted until full-size pics of avy are provided

thank you,

^^ Yea man. I definitely like the newer vocalist. Brings back the raw sound they used to have.

Today:

The Party Foul!
Buried In Verona
The Wheels Of Sorry (if anyone digs post-hardcore this Russian band does it exceptionally well)

Man I had got everything planned, had some of my boys ready to come down so we can catch Motorhead, and then I look up tickets and they're $@#%*$* sold out
30t6p3b.gif

Oh well, Devildriver in May though!
Hope to catch an early birthday present from the folks in the form of tickets

BTW, anyone know I where I can buy band shirts online?
I can't for the life of me find the black and red Death logo shirt, I'm not messing with Rockabilia, last time I ordered a Slayer shirt from them I got a call saying my info was being used in Indiana and then I got a e-mail from them saying the shirt was on back-order for 8 weeks and that they weren't gonna refund my money. Horrible site to buy from
30t6p3b.gif

Also since I haven't posted a vid on this page.

Great Music day, first Lupe's album comes out and then Human Abstract's? Schwing!

but Erick, I usually get shirts directly from the band's website if hot topic doesn't have it
laugh.gif

I've been having trouble with shirts too, asked my cousins in mexico to get me a band T so shipping would be easier but it never came to them. Cartels must control band merchandise too I guess.
