I don't think anyone has said CP3 is the GOAT PG, tho.

I haven't been in here much lately, so it's possible I missed it.

Idk man, a Finals appareance isn't much different than a 2nd round exit to me.

Both went home empty handed/disappointed at the end of the day.

These are just false benchmarks that the media creates and the casual fan regurgitates.

I keep harping on this, it's nothing more than people trying to romanticize basketball. It's easier to sell someone loosing in the finals vs loosing in the second round. But in actuality, the results are the exact same. You lost. The End. Either hold winning in high regard, or not. I personally do take into account winning, but it's a case by case thing. It isn't black and white, no matter how much the media would like you to believe it is.

Because these guys don't really know.  They associate everything w/ rings and it is disrespectful in many regards.  They never had much time or exposure watching CP play on the 'hornets'.  Most of their 'PERCEPTION' comes from the CLIPPERs.  Skill wise, CP is NO DOUBT in a league of his own.

His only downfall is that he plays the game with a different mindset.  If he took all his energy into ridiculing himself via flopping and put it into improving himself further, he would be 'that' much better.

You CANNOT analyze sports this way anymore.  If you must, pick up the BOOK OF RECORDS!!!!!!!!

Stockton had Malone.  CP started his early years on a rebuild franchise.  But now CP has BLAKE and a bunch of talents year in and year out to help lessen the 'burden'.

STILL, this is why STOCKTON owns them all.

Seriously do you guys not get it? The reason me and others go to extremes when talking CP3 is because HIS fans do. I know the Clippers aren't a real contender. I don't expect them to win this year. CP3s fans are so fanatical about their love for dude it's comical. Thats why we say title or bust even though we really don't believe it. STOP TAKING IT SO SERIOUSLY. His fans think he's God so we in turn expect God like things. it's all a joke that constantly goes over people's heads.

Still LOL at the ending of game 6 finals 2013. Spurs illegally subbed Duncan in at the end of regulation and no one caught it :lol

Would have been crazy if they won it off of that sub

WHO are these fans?  I have never ever heard of anything close to that.  Where are you folks reading this from?

Sorry though, but CP3 is still in line WAY WAY behind Kobe, Lebron types.  lol

The ones who thinks he's top 5 ALL TIME right now. 10 years in no question. Those fans.

When someone says he's already Top 3 and "it's not even a discussion"... that's what he's talking about.

hyper you cant be srs fam

I am.

What's the difference between losing and losing?

Since when has 2nd place ever been celebrated in the NBA?

This isn't the Olympics, you don't get a silver Larry O'brien for losing in the Finals, you get nothing, the same as any team was eliminated before you.

I understand how as a fan you would value it, sure, you get to watch more of your team.

That's great for you as a fan, but I highly doubt actual players value losing in the Finals over losing in X round.

If anything it's just a bigger disappoinment.

I could be wrong, tho, I don't play in the NBA and I've never appeared in the Finals, :lol

I think being the best team in your conference for that season (especially in the West) should count for something. You are considered the Conference champions :lol . Losing in the conference finals is one thing, but losing in the Finals is nothing like losing in the 1st round :lol .

It's not even that deep. Dude has been the best PG in the game since about 07/08-now. With it being more debatable now. )I still think he's the best pg in the game)

What rational people don't understand, is trying to discredit his status as one of the leagues top players by using something as trivial as not getting past the 2nd round, then come right back and say so & so is better when they haven't won anything either etc etc.

Most things in here can be debated or discussed.

The "it shouldn't be a discussion" ranks pretty high on my phrases that suck list.

No clown on you awwsome but that phrase is terrible yo, in this instance as well as almost every other instance it is used in here.

That's fine, we just look at things differently.

You value it, I don't, it's not really a big deal.

More like the un-rationale people.  CP plays his position really really well, except for the flopping. LOL

How many all time greats have never made it past the 2nd round? I'm asking honestly. How isn't that not a negative for a player of his stature? Seriously.

So there's no difference between the 2013 heat and the 2013 Bobcats because at the end of the day, they both lost?

Why do people ALWAYS do this? :lol

Of course there are differences, that Heat team was better pretty much everywhere.

However, neither was good enough to beat the Spurs that season, so they are similar in one way.

Exactly.

Some people don't think Peyton Manning is a Top 5 QB of all time because of his postseason failings... and the dude has a Super Bowl ring + 5 MVPs + all sorts of records. Charles Barkley is one of my favorite players and he is constantly left out of people's rankings because of it.

Regardless of what people think or believe, postseason success does weigh heavily on a players place on all-time lists. If not, you need to destroy records and play for incredibly long periods of time/at a high level (ala Stockton/Marino) to be included with the greats.

Can CP3 get there eventually? Who knows, but if he does, you're damn right he should be included. It's just too soon to crown him, especially with the lack of personal accolades/hardware.
