It feels like Rose ain't been healthy for a good stretch since that Pacers series even then I think he had an ankle issue.

Batum & sideshow bob

shocked no ones talking about this

Not trying to downplay the significance of what Batum and Lopez are doing, but the fact nobody is talking about it is further illustration that nobody outside of Portland seems to pay attention to what the Blazers are up to. They are far and away the least talked about West playoff team.

As bad as the New York Knicks have been this season, the MSG Network doesn’t figure to follow the New York Times’ lead and stop covering Carmelo Anthony and Co. anytime soon. That’s just one of the reasons MSG’s lead Knicks announcer, Mike Breen, is excited to call Friday’s Wizards-Bulls game in prime time for ESPN.

“I get extra pumped up by these games,” said Breen, who is ABC and ESPN’s lead play-by-play voice for NBA coverage and was in D.C. for the Knicks’ 13th straight loss, 101-91 to the Wizards, with MSG on Wednesday. “They have meaning, and even though they have a lot of basketball to play, they’re obviously not looking ahead to next year. In terms of a January game, this is as good as it gets. Two teams that have a legitimate chance of winning the East and it’s a new success with Washington. They’re not used to having teams that are this good.”

Chicago, which is a half-game ahead of the Wizards in the Eastern Conference standings, won the first meeting between the budding rivals in December. Derrick Rose scored 25 points and Pau Gasol added 18 to lead the Bulls to a 99-91 win at Verizon Center. It marked the first time that the oft-injured Rose and Wizards point guard John Wall played against each other since 2012, which Breen said makes it difficult to compare the two players.

“In his prime, Rose was the most complete point guard in the league,” Breen said. “They’re both super quick. They both attack the ball so well. They’re both ultimate competitors who get their teammates involved while at the same time not losing their aggressiveness. There are some nice similarities, but Rose at this best is a couple of steps ahead. But certainly not right now. If [Wall] ever develops a real consistent jumper, he’ll be unstoppable because he has all the moves and all the quickness. He’s got the whole package.”

Wizards-Bulls games have taken on added significance since Washington defeated Chicago in five games in a heated first-round playoff series last spring. Tempers flared between Paul Pierce and Joakim Noah when the teams met in the preseason, but their highly anticipated game last month was altercation-free.

“Having heated rivalries that occasionally have a minor flare-up is great for the fans and adds to the drama,” Breen said. “Paul Pierce and Joakim Noah are two of the best in the game at their positions, but they’re also professional irritants and they know how to get under their opponents’ skins. That’s one thing that makes them so good.”

Friday’s game marks the beginning of a tough stretch for the Wizards, who are 0-3 against Atlanta, Chicago and Toronto, their top competition in the Eastern Conference. On Sunday, Washington visits the 27-8 Hawks. The Wizards host the Spurs on Tuesday before traveling to Chicago for another game against the Bulls on Wednesday.

“I don’t think anyone has separated themselves [in the Eastern Conference],” Breen said. “If Derrick Rose gets back to close to what he was, you might put Chicago as the favorite. It’s Toronto, Atlanta, Washington, Chicago, with Cleveland as the wild card. The roster for Washington seems to be built for a postseason run. They have some continuity, too. That’s the underrated part of everything, and San Antonio has shown us that. Randy Wittman was on the verge of not being around, and now he’s done an excellent job. You need that. Continuity is so important in basketball.”

and tho no one is talking about them, Kemba's been ballin' for Charlotte as of late

Second best addition by subtraction story behind the Pistons, even though the Hornets haven't actually cut Lance. But they sure seem better without him.

Nick Cannon says he's been a fan of the Clippers since they were in San Diego. He says the Clippers now run Los Angeles.

This is one celebrity fan I'd like to kick of the Clippers band wagon. Fan since they were in San Diego? Sure. He was 3 years old when the Clippers last played in San Diego. What a clown.

the nba has done a poor job marketing the blazers and a guy like lillard

guys like wall and lillard play with that "chip" on their shoulders. whether it's being overlooked at for team usa or just not getting the recognition

Just the Blazers?

The NBA marketing team

They give no dambs about showcasing their true young and up and coming talent. They go for the easy money grabs for television ratings, I don't blame them for that though

100%. You'd never know that dame is right after steph as far as setting a new standard of 3 pt shooting. Dame is set to break a lot of the same records steph is

I need to watch the Bulls play more often...Jimmy Butler a max deal? Is dude ballin like that? I knew he had improved but damn. Parsons and Heyward gonna have everybody shining

I still think the Thunder should have went after Caulderon if they were going to throw a dart out there. Sure he's paid a few million more and has 1 extra year, but he's a much better fit. He could play much better with KD and Russell, could play both guard positions. Having Waiters and Jackson together is something that you couldn't even make up to be a worse combo.

They could still trade Caulderon away too his last year as an expiring contract if he didn't fit

Knicks would have taken a draft pick from OKC in a heartbeat IMO

Yeah, he's playing that well. 22, 6 and 3, while also playing elite defense. If he keeps that up, no question he's a max guy IMO.
