I completely understand. I remember thinking day 1 cop when I thought they were $190. The $250 made me pause especially since I was like "well the 7/16 pack was $330 or so"
We all have our day 1 cop shoes tho and I can't blame you for having these be one.
Yessir. Somehow I woke up and found myself an "old head" this year at 40. Still feel 25. At least when it comes to this nonsense. Funny how that happens lol.
Lately, I buy what I want when I can and mostly I don't chase it. I just don't have time to be up on the deals when they pop unless I catch them on sites like this while I'm wasting 20 minutes eating lunch or whatever. But the odds of that are slim. Still, it won't stop me buying certain pairs. That said, $250 is about my limit, and I agree it was totally OD. Shoes are nice though, one of the best-built retros in a while.
Re: the $330 on that 7/16 CDP ... Yeah, I know. It's a different world of BS now. Charging $500 for this CRAP 13/14 DMP? Makes that $250 MSRP on the 16s look like a deal

2 different perspectives I guess. When your collection gets large enough, you start having a hard time wearing your shoes in good time.
At that point, it makes no sense for me to buy day 1 at full retail knowing I won't get around to wearing them for months.

You have to recognize that shoes just aren't selling for much above retail these days. It's just a matter of surveying the landscape and knowing what's good.
I'm not saying it's wrong to do day 1 cops. I'm saying the whole "I'm not in the shoe game to save money" talk doesn't make sense to me. I'm in the shoe game for shoes.

Go to ur local ftl and ask em to locate or order ur Sz, if they don't have it go to fta, champs and give it a go and have em price match Footlocker's in store price which is 99.99. Get the sku for em so it's easier to look it up

Anyone still got pics of the custom XVIs going around 01/02? I think KVN & Methamphibian were the names of the prominate customizers on NT at the time. There was a carolina colorway based on the midnights and a red patent colorway based on the gingers. Also, a lot of folks were dying their ginger XVIs and olive IX all black.

How about the doo doo brown xvi low samples? I think there was a solid white and black low sample as well. Oddly enough, a few years ago there was an amazing xvi + white and black sample. Those wold have been phenomenal.

IMO no. I had a DS pair at least 4 years ago. The back tab pulled right off as soon as I put them on. Boxed them up and sold them.

The soles tend to hold up well, biggest issue I see frequently is broken heel tabs and underfoot straps on the gaiters.
I think a lot of this is due to people storing them with silica that dries out the material. For years this was the preferred method of preventing yellowing, but since silica works by removing moisture, it reaks havoc on plastics, foams and rubbers.

A Canadian website NRML.ca has the navys for $198 Canadian ($146 USD)....they still have sizes. I grabbed two on release date for 30% off from a friend and just grabbed two more off Nrml. I know its over kill but I was 12 when they released and by the time i saved up enough my size was gone. I absolutely love the white/navy 16s.
