Man Olympic Melo was better than this in my mental files. :nerd: And I'm not knocking KD. I just remember Melo & Kobe were a level higher than what we just saw the last few weeks.

KD right there with them after this. I'm really not sure US medals let alone gets gold without KD having to carry like he did

Yo, good looking on posting this. Wow...

I don't even watch this ****, but that was crazy/painful to watch. :wow:

She scored zero points in this event (the final event of the pentathlon) and went from 1st place to 31st place. Yikes.

They don't medal without him, and I think that performance cements his legacy. I won't go so far as to say he won that gold by himself, but we've never seen a single player be almost entirely responsible for a gold medal like that.

How does this work? Don't they bring their own horses?

I thought so too but apparently they can't use their own horses. they have horses there and the riders are given 20 mins to establish some kind of connection with them. they say it's part of the contest, being able to work with a random horse. its bull**** though because if you get a bad horse then youre screwed.

i know nothing about dressage, horses, horse racing, horse ****, nothing.. but why the hell is this an olympic “sport?”

horses are beautiful creatures, but why do we force them into to this type of foolery?

She's getting dragged too because she whipped the horse and expert horse riders say that's a no-no in that situation.

Pretty much what the video explained in that this was mainly rider error.

I definitely agree that they need to adjust or totally remove the horse portion of the pentathlon.

edit:

German coach suspended for striking horse at Olympics

TOKYO (AP) — A German coach at the Tokyo Olympics was suspended Saturday after being filmed hitting an uncooperative horse during the women’s modern pentathlon competition.

TV footage showed Kim Raisner leaning over a fence to strike the horse Saint Boy, which refused to jump the fences in the show jumping round on Friday. That cost German athlete Annika Schleu a chance of winning the gold medal.

The International Modern Pentathlon Union said it reviewed footage showing Raisner “appearing to strike the horse ... with her fist” and that “her actions were deemed to be in violation of (the rules).” She was also heard calling to Schleu to whip the horse harder.

Raisner’s suspension only applies for the rest of the Tokyo Olympics, which end Sunday. It wasn’t immediately clear if she would have had any role in Saturday’s men’s competition.

Schleu, who competed in tears as her medal hopes evaporated, has also been criticized on social media for using the whip repeatedly.

:smh: :smh: :smh:

the joy in these photos is dope. can’t even begin to imagine what winning a gold medal must feel like

Agreed. Just walking around an Olympic track would be some bucket list type ****.

Not sure why some of these countries don't feature the stadiums as tour attractions when the games are over instead of simply abandoning the venues.

Would you guys also drape the american flag over yourself like the track & field athletes? I wouldn't and happy to make maga people mad.

I know I'm late, but that anchor for Italy in the 4x100 was ****ing flying down the stretch :wow:

What a run by Hassan in the women's 10,000m she was spent at the end of it. The top three were so fast they lapped the field.

well they ain’t completely stupid

i disagree on the order thou.. I woulda gone with the Muhammad > syd > mu > then Felix

Brilliant run by the US in the 4x400m as expected thought they might be able to break the record.

4x 400 women USA team took care of business
Yup

but how that played out, I think they fudged the order.. with that lane assignment, you go Muhammad on leadoff who’s going run how she runs let syd handle that whole shift down on the 2nd lap then mu can extend shh on that 3rd lap.. and then you leave it to Felix on whether she’s challenging that WR with a huge gap
