Hell of history in there. You know, I never really knew the extent and how deep Kci $ JoJo were in that church-gospel music circuit. That’s a whole entire industry separate to itself, that’s been going on forever. And people be eating.

The idea that Kci was look at as the #1 prospect and “Young Michael Jackson” of the youth gospel music circuit…and then Johnny Gill being the #2 and his Rival, and them having Baltimore vs DC gospel battles at 12-13 years old is interesting as hell to think about. 1k a week is super low for a podcast that was doing major numbers. AD was the first _ to go on there. Damn near that whole crew joined no jumper cuz of AD. He not a big name rapper but in this generation of LA rappers he's respected over there. I think they got a lot of views and more hires cuz people felt if AD is rocking with Adam he must be cool. He gave him the stamp of approval.

That’s like $80K, before tax in Los Angeles for an on air #2 host/talent for one of the bigger pods out there. Looks like AD was doing **** for free too. A lot of “opportunity” ****. You can argue he was one of the main dudes that saved No Jumper. None of this is new tho:

just sayin…i’m guessing if one were to look just at the views they were pulling across the channel they probably were on the low end to decent numbers on average (especially as they expanded on the people & shows), then consider the whole operational costs, rents of a decent sized studio, gear, staff, & talent…

yea sans context, getting upwards of 4-6k (pre tax) a month isn’t particularly good money in california but without knowing what the obligations were i don’t know how folk are speaking so confidently about that being an exploitative wage
