don’t watch the pod all that much but all i know is amongst certain friend groups you can see the incoming jokes as tho you were telepathic so as to not give proverbial bullets you get in the habit of not divulging too much unless prepared to engage in a roasting/be roasted

They do ads, just with direct partnerships and well placed ones that don't disrupt the flow. MDWOG and that random droopy face cat taking shots with random, loud injected ads was offputting to me.

Most other podcasts work through a 3rd party Ads aggregator where it's not direct with the company, the pay is stepped on of course and you might have stipulations like not knowing who you have to shill, when and for how long etc. Joes way is smarter in the long run, like it seems he has direct ties to brands and builds relationships. Talked about some of it here in the first part of this. Can't vouch for the rest of the BS after.

Listened to the first 30 minutes. I don't see how people don't understand this.

Ish laid it out well. I'm still not sure how other podcasters are upset at Joe for not taking so called ads. Joe isn't telling you not to take ads and you shouldn't care if he does.

Like Parks said about the ads, I started listening to that MWOG pod and it was an ad in the first five minutes. That's annoying. I don't like anyone enough to pay for patreon, because it's so much free pod content. That's like paying for porn to me. If I'm on the fence with your pod anyway, obtrusive ads might be a deal breaker for me.

And I always thought it was a cancel culture thing because of Joe's history and how Cash App went away.

I mean of course some say thats the story but when you think about it logically Jay was the talent, Dame was the operator, what did Biggs bring to the table besides money to get his equity in it. Cam said Jay and Dame was getting money before Rocafella too. I'm sure Biggs brought more than just his money. Rocafella had their hands in music, clothing, movies, a list of artists. Having 3 guys is needed. Jay was dropping albums every year. He didn't have time to be all the places.
