How did this not beat avengers?:{
Btw I thought avengers was terrible

Its quite easy. This is not a kids batman.

Kids are the money generator for the movies.

C. Nolan does not strike me as the kid friendly director. His movies really make you think.

3-D prices and GA prices make a huge difference as well..

Just got back from seeing it a second time, man it was just as good this time around. I still hold the thought that this movie is better than TDK and that's huge for me because TDK is one of my favorite movies ever. Just too spectacular on so many scales, Nolan can do no wrong.

Anne Hathaway was even prettier this time around :o

That sewer fight...... my goodness again. Too many notable quotes from Bane, the swagger was just stupid.

And at the very end, just to reiterate, there is in my mind absolutely no way that Alfred is envisioning them there. They are actually there. Why in the world would it make sense that Alfred would picture Selina there when he's only seen her once in the movie and even that one time was just a very quick 'bring the food up to his room, lock the door.' If Nolan wanted us to think Bruce was actually dead Rachel would've been with him at the restaurant.

Man they mentioned that auto pilot waay too many times for Bruce to die. It would have been more powerful if he did though.

Also how much time was left on the bomb when Batman finally got a hold of it? I can't remember it was 5 minutes or 2

I know I was just saying cause earlier in this thread some dudes kept insisting that Alfred was dreaming or some @#$# lol. Yeah it would have been very powerful if he did die. I remember when I watched this movie on Friday that scene at the funeral with Alfred crying almost got me, @#$# was sad b.

And he got it with 2 minutes. Probably less since he made out with Anne and had to talk to Gordon for forever lol.

Well if it was 2 minutes its physically impossible for Bruce to get the bomb 6 miles away from the city and get himself 6 miles away from the blast, in under 120 seconds.

In fact now that I know it was 2 minutes its ******g ridiculous that he got it away from the city that fast.

obviously I meant IMO.
dudes want this entire thread to be :smokin:smokin:smokin that was the best
it's a discussion. I, ME, think it's madness. doesn't mean i look down on anyone who likes it better. I think it could have been better than TDK. It had the opportunity to be better. Which speaks volumes because Its very hard to follow up TDK and I had low expectation for this one
and no The joker performance was not the only thing that made that movie better

No i know everyones not gonna like it the same, it just seems like theres a few people in the thread who dont ''understand'' that some people just liked this movie better.

Theres nothing to understand, if someone like TDK better id be like ok and wouldnt blink an eye...it just seems a few people cant get past the fact that a lotta people like this movie better than TDK.

I strongly disagree about this movie being less realistic and having plotholes etc, im sure if we wanted too we could nitpick TDK to death as well...All 3 of these films had loose ends because NO movie will cover and explain EVERYTHING.

I think what annoyed me the most was that it was a film adaptation of No Man's Land. It wasn't even an original story like the first two that borrowed elements here and there from the comics, nearly the entire plot was from No Man's Land. That and NML was also one of my least favorite arcs. If they picked another that they were base the entire plot on, I might have been slightly less annoyed.

Saying Nolan doesn't follow comics just makes everything you've posted null and void as its obvious i'm dealing with an amateur. I pointed out SPECIFIC portions from the comic books that Nolan recreated in all 3 movies yet you want to boldly say Nolan doesn't follow comics? Okay.....And Raimi's Spiderman was a joke. Mark Webb's ASM $hitted all over that trilogy by staying true.
Nolan respected and admired the comics. He did his best to stay as true to it as possible while making his Batman. He's stated himself the inspirations for many of the movies parts from the comics. If you're too blind to see the correlation between the Dark Knight Rises and the Dark Knight Returns then there's no point in discussing it any further because you're out of your league and obviously not into comics or a batman fan.
And no the world's not going to end because it's not true to the comic because no comic book movie is. But what you're stating is beyond ridiculous. Why is he older? He can't be younger just because there was no other actor playing a younger Bane in the flashback? It makes no sense. If you ask the average movie fan who saw this and ask them why they think Bane beat Batman the first time I guarantee everyone will state it's because Bruce is older and Bane is younger and stronger. Plain and simple. The "Robin" was to appease fans as an Easter egg. Of course Robin's name isn't Robin but it just leaves a window open. They always stated there would never be a Robin. Blake was always that secret prize easter egg. Nolan could've gone any way about stating who John Blake was alluded to being, either by making his real name John Richard Grayson or just Richard Grayson but he chose the simple and most obvious as the final hidden gem.

Do you not know how to debate a point? Nolan doesnt follow the comics exactly because of the points I made. So making a statement that he does based off of a few scenes is incorrect. I can make a shot for shot adaptation, but if I make Batman a 7 foot Tall asian guy who can fly, guess what Im not following the source material.Nolan takes liberties with what he wants. fact. Doesnt matter if he respects them or not, he does what he feels right. As I said, your fanboy heart is reaching for some odd reason. Whatever tho. This is going nowhere. lets just leave it at me being right and you being a weird fanboy who cant see thatthe movies dont follow the comics in multiple instances so its safe to say that they dont follow the origins of Bane correctly either.

Also, you keep bringing in comics, to a movie discussion. They hold no ground here. The ignored for hard stubbornness

How can you guys go back and watch a film in the cinemas twice?

I asked myself that same question.

But...after seeing it last night for the first time, I am going to the IMAX to see it again.

One of the best movies I've seen in a looooooong time.

It asks you to suspend disbelief far more than the first two movies. It really does.
Nolan got his accolades by making two realistic batman movies. It's natural for people to be surprised when the third is more comic booky.
The most important part to me was always going to be the ending. And he nailed it :smokin So I am happy and content enough to watch it over and over.
But saying this is better than TDK is madness. Just too messy. The pacing was better in Rises though I'll give it that. Plus it had more epic moments

Haha! It does actually. But all good though. Like you said, that ending made up for whatever lapses the story had :smokin

I'm a little let down by Gotham itself. Pittsburgh just didn't really do it for me. Should just be NYC or Chicago...

Other than that, this movie was absolutely phenomenal.

Anyone else not understand the logic in Bane buying puts for Bruce right before he crashes the market? :lol

Bruce should have been a trillionaire in that case.

You guys are looking waaay too far into this. The movie ends with him being called Robin and going into the Bat Cave. How does that make you think he in any way would be the next Batman rather than Robin? He's the PERFECT Robin...you need a more dominant figure to be Batman than him. I just don't think he'd fit that role. But like I said, the movie literally ends with him becoming Robin. Not everything is as deep as you guys try to make it out to be.

You mean that wasn't Chicago?? I thought they just showed more of the southside(the part I've never seen) :lol . How you just gonna change up the city like that?

Definitely going to see it again this weekend.

All I can say is, since each of us does have his/her own favorite movie from the trilogy... I guess it's safe to say that we see the whole trilogy as :smokin. Like what I've mentioned in the other thread, this definitely goes up there as one of the best trilogies of all time. Nolan and the cast really did the franchise proud.

And, if there would be Catwoman spin-off again I'd be down with that. Same with a Bane solo, or better yet A Dark Knight Returns flick would be the best choice of all. This would fit in nicely with how he ended Rises.

As for Anne vs Scarlett? I love me some Scarlett, but Anne by a couple of heartbeats.

he was given the reigns to the batcave, therefore I think he is going to take on his own persona (robin) and not necessarily don the batsuit, especially because every citizen of gotham thinks batman died. JGL is a hot actor right now, he's been getting bigger and bigger roles. WB is for sure going to capitalize on the open ended-ness of this story. And I'm sure bale, oldman, freeman, caine, and a few others wouldn't turn down a hefty paycheck, even if it is for a minor role. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that Nolan is done. The man is the truest artist when it comes to directing, and if he says 3 is his limit, I believe it.
