The days of illegal downloading coming to an end

What's with you guys and DatPiff? Sure, their mixtapes are free, but the site also sucks and there are better options out there. Half the mixtapes I've downloaded from there are either missing tracks or are corrupt.

This is damn near irrelevant to me.

There's been about 2 CDs a year that I would ever consider buying, which I can now buy from a bootlegger for $3. Mixtapes have completely taken over the game.

I agree with most things said in this topic, but you guys or more importantly the industry is forgetting, that even with piracy at large, music, movie and porn industries are all booming and will keep doing so. I don't know why the CEO's and managers want to rake in another huge load of cash in addition to the milliions and billions they own already....They could consider it as a form of philanthropism or something alike....plus they'll make the money at the end of the day, because it is a loss in revenue, however it is a great ad, I don't think most of us would now, half the artist we listen to and love. It's simple, in most cases you won't pay for a seemingly unknown artists material, but if you get a few listens, you'll support them anyway by buying the album and merchandise or by visiting their shows...

there is a lot of talk about music DLing in here....

why am i the only one concerned about DLing HD prawn in the future?  it is a struggle right now.

Ehhh, it's all good to me. I've DL'd a few tapes with a couple missing tracks here and there, but it's not that often (I guess based on the ones I DL), and
to me it's really been the easiest and most convenient...unless you know some others besides livemixtapes

***EDIT: @MPLSdunk so that's why those never (or rarely) omit tracks. There's some I've DL'd not actually labelled 'official' that

may miss 3-4 tracks.

That's why you only get the official ones. That's what I use it for. Yo gotti isn't gonna drop cm89 on hulkshare

Booming? Evidence?

I'm all for these measures.

http://web.wellesley.edu/web/profil...s/economics/profiles/danaherb.xml&fileIndex=3Brett Danaher of Wellesley College and I have a new working paper (Reel Piracy: The Effect of Online Piracy on International Box Office Sales) attempting to find evidence on whether piracy, in particular movie downloading via BitTorrent, depressed international movie box office revenue.

A number of bloggers have picked up on the last result, and we have been surprised at blog posts saying that researchers find that piracy doesn’t depress movie sales. We think our marquee result is the opposite we do find evidence that piracy depresses international sales. We’d blame ourselves but lots of these bloggers don’t seem to read carefully. Some of the posts have me at Mizzou, rather than Minnesota. So much for the wisdom of crowds.
