Im convinced steelhead aren’t real.

DNR counted 5k in just one of the tributaries. I’ve spent 40 hours fishing the Great Lakes rivers this season and not even one bite.

No one else I run into has caught them either although some dude did catch a massive king salmon and some coho today. Great Lakes fishing is brutal, snow and 25 degrees today. Line kept freezing up in the guides and reel.

Found a sick river though.

That’s why I like fishing these rivers and creeks. Half the fun is finding new spots and exploring. It actually hard work.

Fished a few times from my kayak, but it’s always been a big hassle with the small kayak i use. All my tackle and pole are usually in between my legs (pause) so not much room to paddle, and bringing a catch in has been tricky as well.

had this little milk crate package in my closet for about 2 years and yesterday I finally tinkered around with it. Bought a loophole kit for some extra places to strap it down. Should take care of the storage issues and the pole holder should free up my paddling issues.

Pretty damn easy, just drilled a few holes and viola. Gonna test it out tomorrow morning and try to get some rainbows

I’m so sick and tired of stomping through swamps and brush just to get to a decent spot. I wouldn’t be trying to cover big water. Just small ponds that are hard to fish except a few spots on the bank.

The spots I hit for bass I’m gonna poke holes in them with under water shopping carts and other trash.

New setups this year, trout opener in a few days and I got two weeks off.

Pfleuger president combo UL for creek trout.

Fenwick HMX med with an old shimano Sedona reel I had

Ugly stick carbon med heavy with 50 pound braid with a speed demon reel.

Out here catching dinks in the crik, not used to fishing crystal clear water. They spook easy and are skittish. Usually I fish muddy jungle creeks and they are way bigger and aggressive.

I caught a ton they were just all dinks. Fishing for stocked fish is still fun but I’d rather catch one 20”+ than a million

the creek close to my house has some fatties and they only stock I think for the self sustaining browns to eat.

I have never seen anyone fish where I go, they all stay by the state land where it's manicured and easy. I go bushwhacking. I like the simplicity of trout fishing.

3rd weekend in a row getting skunked at new lakes. I’ve been hearing that the trout are still being shy because the water is still a little too cold but I’ve tried perch, bluegill, and bass with no real luck. Trolling, from banks, in kayaks, hasn’t mattered. I know some eassssssssy spots to go for guaranteed limits, but it’s not as fun.

I’m in it for the thrill of the hunt. Exploring new lakes and rivers on my own. Anyways, today I got 1 bite in 4 hours from power bait, eggs, corn, and bass lures. Got 3 of these off rooster tails in 2 hours maybe? None keepers. I’m salty AF. Never hit a rut like this in my life.

I went out today too. Got like 40 of these boys. And a couple browns.

It’s not been great here either. I think once it warms up the big browns will come out. All I use is #4 panther martins of all colors.

Every once in a while I’ll throw some rapalas when I know the big ones are around.

Ayyyyyyy we got almost all the same lures! I brought all those same panther martins with me and the 2 Rapalas in the middle for the bass. Also brought a couple big hula hoppers and 3/8 oz chatterbaits in case they were biting (like my 6lb test line could have handled something like that)

Not doing any new lakes next weekend. Need to get some damn guaranteed get backs next time.

Dude those black and yellow are unmatched. Wiz Khalifa lure kills it.

Just get back on the board for the year then go on some adventures.
