After a night of terrible judging and bad splits, it was refreshing to see all 3 judges gave the first 2 rounds to Khalil.

In DC’s defense, he had to contend with Jon Jones and Rumble Johnson during that run. Was a 2X LHW champ.

Poatan is currently behind Liddel (4) and Jon. Definitely a great run. If he beats Magomed, he kind of cleaned out the division since he has wins over Jiri, Jan, Hill and Rountree.

Magomed Ankalaev is the top contender and probably biggest challenger at LHW.

His fight with Rakic is in a few weeks.

So they could legitimately setup a title fight for March. But...what's more important to the UFC? A LHW title fight or Poatan challenging for his third title/weight division.

At the rate he fights, he could run through them both and set up the Aspinal fight for Next November.

UFC has to start building the Jones fight at some point. Jones wants legacy fulfilling matches, what’s bigger than Poatan?

They should have Alex fight Ank/Rakic and Aspinall vs Gane/Volkov winner around 1st quarter. Then have them fight at IFW next July.

I really think Jones retires or takes a real long break after MSG.

Jon went on a three-year break after "winning" against Reyes. And then he's been on a break since last March given his pectoral injury.

I think everyone including Dana expects November to be it. And undisputed HW will probably be determined by whatever UFC does after Jon retires. I agree with winner of Gane/Volkov versus Aspinall makes sense.

No telling what Jones does provided he wins definitively against Stipe. It sounds like he may retire (even if its only temporary). I just hope he vacates the belt so they can get some normalcy to the HW division and then if he wants to fight Poatan sometime in 25' or later we can worry about that if the time comes.
