The NBA Draft Thread

I think Diallo can be a good player but explosive two-way potential? What would lead you to believe that?

He's a shot-blocker, defender and there is no evidence that he'll be anything more.

He has a really nice mid range jumper and shoots well coming off the pick.

I'm not saying he's going to be 20 a game but I can see him developing into an Ibaka like role.

Deyonta Davis going to be a BUST. He's a rim protector and nothing more.

It's a shame cause he could have been a stud with another year or two if Izzo under his belt.
^^^^
Says prospect is a bust but says he has a defined role.
^^
Says prospect is only a rim protector in a league where rim protection is paramount and is something that translates for prospects
^^^
Says prospect should have stayed in school and come out in a stronger draft.
^^^^
Is silly.
I guess time will tell. I watched nearly every MSU game last year. He's not a good rebounder; he can't block out for ****. He is straight up pitiful at perimeter defense and is slow. His offense if weak, and he's not strong enough to body up on either end of the floor. He can block shots, and that's about it right now.

Look at what prospects have done under some years of Izzo. Neither Draymond or Denzel would have been drafted leaving early, and now look at DayDay. Now look at Valentine. Looking at this strictly based on skill level alone (and not financial incentive to go pro), Davis should have stayed at least another year and got some great coaching and more experience under his belt.

Thoughts on Dejounte Murray?

He plays a lot like a quicker Memphis CDR

Can play a fast pace.

But he's too much of a guy who will pound the ball for himself and then pass when he's out of options.

had trouble finishing at the rim, only 45% from 2 despite being skilled enough to use traits skills and ball handling to get near the hoop a lot.

Can't shoot from 3.

Has the tools to be a good defender due to 6'9.5" wingspan and he's quick. But he will often be unmotivated to play defense and goes through the motions.

I see him as a backup off the bench guy who gets buckets but doesn't do very efficiently. Probably should be a PG as opposed to moving up to the 2. but he's too me first and turnover prone to do so.

99% sure Phil will somehow acquire a draft pick tomorrow. Really hoping for one of:

Timothe Luwawu (doubtful)
Caris LeVert
Isaia Cordiner
Malcom Brogdon
DeAndre Bembry
Gary Payton II

I hope Simmons works out for the sake of the 6ers but I'm not getting carried away with him making half speed jumpers. WCS was doing the same thing last summer

Chad Ford:

Doing research tonight for Mock Draft 10. Based on all the info I can find, the Kings only got 1 prospect ranked in our Top 30 in for a workout -- Wade Baldwin. They didn't even get medicals on most of the top 10 prospects. They've been completely shunned by agents.

What kicks Ben got on in the pic with Embid?

Hoping my guy, Riles can finagle a pick or two tomorrow. Other than that, I'm rooting for the UNC guys. Hope someone takes a chance on Marcus Paige :smokin

Heard through the grapevine that the ONLY way Kevin Durant comes to LA is if Lakers draft Ingram and trade him in a package to include another future draft pick plus Randle and Young to Sactown for Boogie Cousins and a throw-in (Seth Curry?)

With Cousins, Russell, Clarkson, Nance and Durant as your starters, the Lakers suddenly become a legitimate playoff contender.

Plus the Lakers would still have a little bit of money left over to sign another impact veteran or mid-level role player such as Ezeli, Barnes, Ryan Anderson, Luol Deng, Rajon Rondo, etc.

There are reports on ESPN stating that the Lakers are expected to take Ingram with the second pick, "barring an unexpected blockbuster trade."

Nobody is reporting that the Lakers are in talks with Sacramento. And the way the Lakers usually do it is to keep things on the hush. Stay tuned.

PG: Russell

SG: Clarkson

SF: Durant

PF: Nance Jr

C:  Cousins

Bench:  Lou Williams, Tarik Black, Seth Curry, Marcelo Huertas, Anthony Brown, plus Free Agent PF or Big
