The NBA Draft Thread

One of my good friends trained Jaylen Brown at IMPACT last year and doesn't like the fit of him on the Celtics at all. Says him and Crowder are basically the same type of player.

The Celtics really passed up Nerlens Noel, Covington, Luwawu and Furkan essentially just for Jaylen Brown, who may be a bad fit for their team.

It's like the inverse of what happened with Boston and Charlotte last year. Funny.

When I saw these quotes posted by VVH, I knew the kid was a pure anomaly...

Watching this Draft special on NBATV, Jaylen Brown is definitely an intriguing character, off the court lol

"I look at basketball like a game of chess... I'm the king and everyone else are pawns"

"My role model was Tracy McGrady..."

"I want to use basketball to help people, I've been blessed, it would be great to win 10 championships but my true calling is to help people"

I'm telling you, these types scare me...
Man...

Different personality type, to say the least. We'll see if that helps or hurts him in the league.
When I heard him say 'I'm just as smart as you and twice as good at the sport you love to watch' I was like wow

. He's one of those guys that knows what you want to hear and comes off as a con man in that sense.
He said that?! salkfhsljnflahlafkjdsad

Celtics better have got one right because if it flames out, it won't be pretty.

I respect Ainge trolling media & that fanbase last night though. Say what you want about him right now, but he's never been shook to do things like this.

...if the kid ends up a bust though? Watch out.

I really like the Brown pick personally.

If he peaks? He has as much superstar potential as Simmons or Ingram.

He just has a higher % of busting and being Harrison Barnes type too.

There is a lot to like about him though, as good of a body + athlete you could ask for on the perimeter, elite handle for his size and is already a really good finisher.

His jumper isn't broken and he has good from even if his release is low.

This is also the best situation he could have went to coaching/roster wise, there won't be pressure on him to be the #1 option right away. He's dominate in transition with or without the ball in his hands and can go coast to coast off of a rebound as good as anybody in the draft.

If Boston is content with sticking with Zeke long term at the PG this makes even more sense.

With Brown/Bradley/Smart, there will always be somebody to lock up the main perimeter threat.

Brown could also develop into a nice secondary ball handler who can help Boston run teams off the floor.

Pappagiannis' dad on Twitter slandering Dragan Bender is everything.

He tripping though, Bender only didn't play at FIBA because of sneaker company beef, nothing to do with him.

Not like Bender didn't out play dudes son in the FIBA euro championships or anything, not like Bender isn't the much better prospect or anything.

Not that his son being drafted by the Kings made Boogie start going back to therapy or anything.

If Brown ends up a bust as a basketball player, he's still going to be all right. Probably will make millions as a banker or whatever it is he wants to do :lol

I would much rather have a player with his mindset over a Ben Simmons type who's on IG as much as a teenage girl and loves being seen with famous people.

He's a 19 year old in the year 2016 who was the top ranked prospect in the world and is around/associated with many famous people....I don't see anything wrong with Simmons posts when basically all of them are involved with basketball or working out. OBJ has been a top 3 WR in the NFL since the minute he touched the field and that dude is dancing around and singing Drake songs while in a moving vehicle looking high as ****. Maybe if he was doing things like that I'd have a problem with it.

OBJ has already proved himself at the highest level two years in a row, he wasn't doing none of that before hand stop it.

It remains to be seen what Simmons will do.

I know you wanna defend your franchise pick but you gotta chill.

He's 19. Who cares man. Every other 19 year old doing the same ****. Ben will be fine

Btw Philly drafted literally perfectly. Legit more hyped for the last two picks more than anything else lol

Philly killed it in the draft but this all just makes it even more hilarious that they fired Hinkie and everything that he did led directly to this. :lol

Colangelo will find a way to mess it up though.

#processccomplete

Hinkie put them in this logjam tho. All that losing and they're gonna be forced to trade a top 3 pick or two for peanuts.

Colangelo says they're looking for a "nontraditional point guard that can shoot" since Simmons will be basically a point forward for them. Any ideas on who they could trade for or sign that this would fit? I wanna say Brandon Knight would be a good fit. Maybe Lavine or Gary Harris?
