The NBA Draft Thread

:lol I can feel your pain.

Lakers robbed us of D'lo last year and we drafted Jah instead. We would not have been in this logjam situation if it weren't for them. They gave us Bynum and set our franchise back by almost a decade.

If karma does exist, the Sixers will get this pick.

That Bynum trade is literally the reason for The Process ever beginning...and if karma is real they will finally fulfill and complete The Process and give us the #4 pick this year.

3rd worst record =/= 3rd pick

We'll probably be at no. 2 by the end of next month with the schedule we have coming up.

Damn. I forgot all about Bynum robbing ya'll. :lol That's when he was rocking the Ike Turner.

I know everyone is in on the guards this draft but besides from Fultz, I like Issac/Markannen as much as anybody.

Markannen can be the best offensive player in the entire draft I think and Issac could project to be a complete player who can do everything well.

Really would love either of those guys at the 4 next to Porzingis but doubt we lose enough to get there :{

Anyone have any context for what Fultz is doing particularly from the midrange/just outside the paint? I feel like I haven't seen someone this effective at such a young age from that part of the floor in a long time.. let alone a point guard. I don't even know what's more impressive his midrange or the fact that he's also shooting over 40% from three

The contrast from Fultz to Smith to Ball is insane

It's funny I've been reading analyst saying he "settles" for the midrange too much. I hate how it has been labeled as inefficient shot and it's become ok to completely ignore it. Some of the best scorers in the league today rely on that. It opens up opportunities to drive and score in different ways.

And you're right, they are three completely different players. It's crazy. Each player who gets drafted will set the tone for their teams in very different ways.

He's already shaping up to be one of the most talented guard prospects in recent years.

It's so rare to see a kid just have so much skills/IQ/feel, be an elite athlete with elite length and be an effective scorer from anywhere on the floor.

Hinkie probably has a shrine to him in his home like shorty from Hey Arnold.

I need to see Markannen go against real NBA size/defense before making any type of "best offensive player" in the draft claims.

In a college season devoid of bigs with NBA-level defense, you probably aren't going to see it. I definitely wouldn't consider him to be a better offensive player than Fultz, but he's an athletic 7 footer with solid post moves that is shooting 50% from 3. That doesn't really happen too much...

Exactly. Man, I've seen the kid score from anywhere and he loves to get to the cup. He more often than not chooses the best attempt depending on the situation

Playing for Washington was always an "interesting" choice, I don't think Murray was a lock to stay.. (how much he find in them bags once he got to his dorm) I kind of like the decision to go to a team where you know you'll be fighting just to be respectable. I hope it becomes a trend somehow (Simmons to a lesser extent last season)

Fultz obviously the best offensive player but Markkanen doesn't even have a comparison shooting wise for a freshman 7 footer, he has as much potential as anybody especially if he goes to the right coach/system.

I heard a lot about him coming in mainly from OKB but now after watching the tape and digesting the #'s it's obvious he's a special talent.

Drafting shaping up very nicely at the top.

Yea I'm not a fan of Romar as a coach but at least he runs an NBA type system and when you go there you get ALL the usage.

He has Michael Porter coming in next year who's going be a top 5 pick in 2018 as well.

Bags gotta be heavy.

You really cant go wrong with anyone in the top 10. I'd stay away from Giles though, that injury history :x

Markannen is arguably the best shooter in this draft and his mobility/coordination is insane for a 7 footer.

Romar is in the lead with Immanuel Quickley.....the #1 PG in the country from Baltimore for class of 2018.

No way in hell he pulls this **** off 3 years in a row.

I wanna know what he knows :lol

I posted the article a few pages ago, but in regards to Fultz and I'm guessing this Quickley kid, Romar has an assistant coach from the area on his staff.

Top 8 is really the sweet spot in this draft

Fultz
Ball
Dennis
Markannen
Issac
Tatum
Jackson
Monk

Draft is so much better than last year.

Thank god the Knicks lost their pick last year (Jakob Poetl) at 9 and not this year.

Just need KP to take the year off and Melo trade and we good 8o
