The NBA Draft Thread

why he chose to go to that squad in the 1st place would be more valid than the team not winning enough games

UW was the very first to discover him on accident while he was on the dematha JV team and recruited him HARD before his growth spurt.. he also didn't expect dejounte murray and marquese chriss to declare for the draft after one year.

Washington was also predicted to finish 2nd to last I believe in the preseason Pac-12 polls despite everyone knowing that they had a top 3 pick. Shows how awful the talent was there.

At least Simmons had another fellow 5 star (Blakeney) and another pro (Quarterman) with him @ LSU.

Fultz had David Crisp.

The state of Washington as a whole has been dissapointing these last few years Wash St not sniffing any talent

Sixers working out Monk on Thursday. Their first workout with any of the top 10 prospects.

Yea idk why ppl think we have any leverage on ANY of the teams beneath us in the draft. I feel like most teams KNOW we wanna get rid of that pick

Kings need everything though so whether Fox is there at #5 or not shouldn't matter

I get that but if they think Fox is a legit franchise player, which I do then they will give up what they have to do to get him

I would love Fox at #3 and you buy a shooter

you have leverage because you can take Fox and trade him

BC too dumb to pull off the Hinkie, Elfrid for Saric kinda trade

I feel like I would just take Fox or Jackson if I were Philly. They can always just overpay for a shooter/3pt specialist in free agency if that's what they want. I'd rather take my chances on one of the more well rounded prospects with the higher ceiling instead of the perceived better fit.

whats the sixers consensus on Covington?

Well he was literally the top ranked perimeter defender in the league this past year and is probably our top outside shooter on the team right now but I think they view him more as a trade piece to get somebody more talented in that spot. I would love to keep him to bring him off the bench as our 6-7th man but he's probably gonna get paid a lot of money next summer.

He's basically a better defensive version of Allen Crabbe before the big contract.

If Covington plays the way he played in 2nd half of the yr then id be fine keeping him off the bench but he cant be our starting SF. Hes not THAT good

Looks like Josh Jackson or Fox going to the Lakers.

You can pretty much scratch Ball off the Laker list.

It's either Fox or Jackson. Jackson's ability to guard 1-4 is a premium in today's game. Fox's ability to penetrate at will, attack the basket, his floater game, and his ever improving outside shot puts him well above Ball.
