i know this show has fallen off and probably should've ended a much earlier, but it's all coming to an end. i've personally been catching up on episodes lately just to watch the finale. everyone is expected to return, even steve carrell. just wanted to see if anyone still watches it.

one of my fave shows :smokin
michael scott providing the laughs
dwight and jim's pranks

The show was over when Steve left, although the episode with Will Farrell is one of my favs. I dont watch a lot of TV other than movies and sports, but The Office is one I watched Every episode. Wil be sad to see it go.

FYI, from everything I heard Steve will Not be appearing on the Finale.

On Steve Carrell returning
It's still being denied, but it's basically a fact he'll make an appearance. They just wanted to keep it a surprise.

This last episode was vintage Office. Jim and Dwight playing off each other was just perfect.

The show was falling off even when Michael was still there, it just got too broad and obvious... and it definitely hit some rough patches once he left. But it's still one of my favorite TV sitcoms of all-time and one I've been watching since the very beginning. Took a break and missed last season but eventually caught up for better or worse, this show in it's prime is right at the top.

Michael Scott better be there for the last episode. I'm probably only going to get the DVD sets up until M. Scott leaves.

I don't know if I was on board with Dwight being the manager when they tried it before... but I think they could have pulled off a full season of Dwight as manager if tonight was any indication.

Let him have his crazy policies and tactics, but use Jim to undermine him and have his plans fizzle or backfire. I had higher hopes for this final season, but they had a great episode here (except for Andy) and I'm hoping the finale delivers.

Been watching since the pilot episode and will def be watching next week. I'll be sad to see it end but its been overdue.

My favorite comedy series ever. If Michael isn't in the finale, I seriously would break something

They waited too long to put this dog to sleep. Ending it with the wedding would have been perfect as it was beginning to drag on then. American television has a habit of staying on way past its prime because of ad money.

is this how they ended teh UK Office? with the release of their "documentary?" I think its being very well done.  Haven't watched since Steve Carell left, but watched last weeks.  Those Jim and Pam moments.  That song has a way with me ever since Black Donnellys

i think i read somewhere that the ending is similar in concept to its UK counterpart.

Greatest television show ever made. I feel like I'm losing a good friend lol. I've been watching it my entire adult life.

I will miss this show, never stopped watching. My Thursday night TV schedule is empty. :frown:

The UK Office returned with a Christmas special that took place a couple years after the release of their documentary.

Never stopped watching it, I still get a few laughs out of every episode. Sad to see it go, but its definitely time to hang up the gloves

Some highlights from the article I posted

When it was good, The Office was truly great. In contrast to the aspirational noisiness of other sitcoms, this was a show that celebrated the smallness of everyday life, the quiet indignities and tiny failures that mar our days and the shy smiles, raised eyebrows, and harmless pranks (well, mostly harmless) that give us the resilience to do it all again tomorrow.

But no comedy before or since better captured the temporarily inflating rush of impractical desire, probably because no American comedy has ever been so unafraid of acknowledging desire's black sheep cousin, regret. It's what made Michael's hapless quest for happiness feel heartfelt, not foolish, and imbued Dwight's slow rise to power — and last week's achievement of it — with the sort of recognizably human emotions the black-belted beet farmer would never cop to feeling.

It's ironic, though, that a show so resistant to change should end up responsible for so much of it. It was The Office that popularized the mockumentary format on TV — though it would be Modern Family that would truly take it to the bank — and The Office that made single-camera the preferred visual style for smart sitcoms on every channel. The Office made big stars out of its performers and its writers, and it was the first sitcom to take big advantage of new media to boost its chances and its audience. (It was the earliest NBC series available on iTunes, and the number of downloads factored into its surprise early renewal.)

Even though the show fell off once Michael left I never stopped watching. Been watching since the Pilot episode and ill be very sad to see it end tomorrow. One of my favorite shows ever.

Still my favorite show of all time. Have never missed an episode, no matter how much it has fallen off.

In terms of laughs: basketball episode >>>>>>

The beat overall: casino night>>>>>
