THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || 3-5 Next Game 11/10 vs. Eagles

I know lol .. but we do need another veteran WR, somebody who can still ball and be good mentor to Dez (helping him perfect his craft).
we need an outside guy, Williams is still unproven and young and if we lose Dez we lose basically our entire offensive attack, really think we need an outside guy

Problem I have with bringing a veteran is it once again haults the development/takes snaps away from our younger guys (Harris, Beasley, Williams). I won't be mad if we roll with what we have.

True I actually like Harris

And don't forget about the tight ends that are "going" to line up outside but never actually do

Djax is not the answer though if you want a mentor

Check my previous post, I'm not on the DJax to Dallas bandwagon nor would I EVER consider him a mentor lol

Not sure if our staff believes in Harris as a WR. I'm not saying we need a veteran who's going to come in and be on the field every play, but we're very young at that position. If Dez gets hurt, you guys are ok starting Williams and Beasley?

^That.

Dudes forget the MULTIPLE games where Romo had less than 180 yards because all teams had to do was double Dez because the other guys couldn't get open.

We also forgot that Dez missed 6 games his first 2 seasons, should've missed 4 his third year, and he literally went down for a couple of plays every single game last season.

I believe in Twill, like Beasley and Dez is obviously Dez. But if Dez ever goes down, and we have the same WR corps we have now, the season is over. I'd put Dline, DB and probably LB/OG over WR as a position of need. But let's not act like we couldn't use another receiver.

We could've used another one last year.

We need another outside guy? What are Dez and Terrance and Harris?
Cowboys don't see Harris as an outside guy

Dez obviously one, but TW is unproven and if one guys down we just don't have the outsde WR on the roster anymore to step in

we have a few slot guys Beasley and Harris, but they lack another big WR

this is exactly my point

The draft is deep there and if someone falls into your lap, sure... But it shouldn't be a priority going in.

DT, DE, S... Then I could see WR or OL, but might would even prioritize LB over either of those...

Ideally for me, without assuming trades... Donald/Jernigan in Round 1. Buchanon/Ward/Shazier (not likely)/Crichton in Round 2... Borland/Ahmad Dixon/Telvin Smith in Round 3... I would go defense with the three first rounders... Would even look at taking a flyer on Dominique Easley in Round 3 and trying to hit a home run.

Can Kyle Van Noy play in a 4-3?

He's so well balanced, I think he could pull off the 4-3 and not take a step back.

I don't disagree with the notion of potentially needing another WR especially if Dez goes down. I disagree with Desean being anywhere near a good fit or worth draft picks.

Don't get me wring I'm not against drafting a wr even in the first if the value is there but I'm not paying big money for any veteran to come in and be a starter

Would have loves to get nicks on the cheap but that ship has sailed

We definitely don't need someone that we have to spend big money on. I would like to run into one of those deals San Fran ran into when they fleeced Boldin from the Ravens for a 6th rd pick.

A FA WR is the LAST thing we need.

And T. Will stepped up huge outshined Austin, and earned to line up opposite of Dez. He has the technique to be our speedy WR aka D-Jax.

Would be fun, is all I'm saying.

I think we could get away with one of the OLB's we currently have, not both. Probably Carter with Durant backup on one side. Holloman backup on the other side.

DT (I like Jernigan over Donald, but I've seen more of Jernigan)
SS (Bucannon is my guy, possibly if Donald & Jernigan are gone, go after Ha Ha Clinton Dix if he's still around Round 1. I will always love saying that name)
DE - OLB Round 3 & 4.

Shouldn't really be going after anything else, unless someone great has slipped a bunch of draft spots

Am I the only one that is ecstatic about the moves the Cowboys have made. They got younger, dropped some dead weight and freed up a lot of cap space. The only way this offseason could have been any better so far is if they had cut Romo.

I am waiting till after the draft before I decided if the cowboys offseason moves are good. Last year I thought it was good then for the first round they traded down and drafted a injured OT first round

What? You mean Travis Frederick who was one of the best players on the entire team last year.
