THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || MEH

I still think we should have taken Lacy over Escobar, we needed that, instead we get a average TE who is on pace for like 16 catches this season

i also checked in for one play where the cowboys had 3rd and goal, stacked 3 receivers on the right and dez by himself on the left against flowers. flowers had no safety help. why the hell they didn't just throw it up to him i'll never understand. instead, they ran a bubble screen to williams :{

Nah I honestly believe the same thing about myself.

How the heck do you not throw a fade or curl to Dez right there :{ :{ :{ Still mad Jerry didn't sign a competent OC this year. Only good year from this offense was 07

i knew i wasn't crazy :lol

Romo and Dez went 10-11 145 yards and a Touchdown vs Flowers, Dez accounted for 9 catches.

Just like we should've took Chris Johnson and Ray Rice before Jerry took his Hog Hero Felix Jones :x :{ .. Still upset about that.

Dallas really needs to use all 3/4 of their RBs similar to what Denver is doing since they all have different flaws.

What's even more disturbing is before the snap Romo made all types of hand gestures to the trips side.
So we basically told the KC defense were throwing the ball to this side of the field, and then ACTUALLY threw the ball to the same side!?!?!?!?
I thought the goal was to make them THINK were throwing the ball to that side, but actually throw to the other side.
But hey what do I know.

:{ it shouldn't of mattered what play the OC called, if/when you have your best WR lined up against man coverage with no help that close to the endzone, you go to him. We don't know what play was called down from Callahan, but when ROMO broke the huddle and seen the defense, HE should've know to go to Dez SMH

To make matters worse, apparently Romo was the one who audibles to a screen pass. This is where Romo can frustrate me. He thinks too much sometimes. That's when he makes his mistakes and/or leaves four points on the board. We see the same when he runs no huddle. I swear I've never seen a slower no huddle on any level of football. There's no point in running no huddle if the game clock is getting down to 2 or 3 seconds each play. Romo gives defenses all the time in the world to setup. Just huddle up and get a better play in if you're going to be so slow :{

But that redzone play should've been simple. Dez was taking Flowers to school all game, Dez was the one who got them in the Redzone in the first place, he's facing 1on1 coverage, give your guy a chance.

"@jonmachota: Over last 4 years, @PFF has never graded Brandon Flowers lower than 7th among CBs to finish a season. Defending Dez Bryant, Flowers = 111th
:smokin :smokin :smokin

"@jonmachota: Brandon Flowers received a -3.8 grade from @PFF after defending Dez Bryant, the worst single-game grade he's ever received in his career
:eek :eek And it could've been alot worse had they kept going to him

Look for Garrett to go heavy on the run this week.
We get the W. He does all his "I'm so awesome interviews".
Week 4 its back to business as usual.
47 passes, 14 runs and a lot of blown scoring opportunities.

An example of Demarco leaving yards on the field. Ran into Free on this play

Same with this run, bounced outside for a four yard gain. When you have a bad run blocking line you can't make decisions like this as a back. I had high expectations for Demarco after his rookie year, but his RB vision is straight garbage

^ I agree, very poor vision, one of the reasons I would like to see Randle more who was INACTIVE on Sunday SMH

Demarco had that breakout game against (coincidently) the Rams his rookie season and fans annointed him the second coming of Emmitt Smith. He looks for contact instead of gaining extra yardage and in all honesty, he is teetering that fine line with that new rule implemented about running backs lowering their heads. He's going to be called/fined for it within the upcoming weeks.

The Rams defensive line is better than KC's so our oline will have their work cut out for them. We should be able to take advantage of their weak secondary so long as Romo is protected. Callahan better not call another "dink and dunk" type of game. Bradford played well against Atlanta last week and Scandrick will have issues covering Austin in the slot. This cannot be a game where we only score 16 points.

The defense is only going to get better. Its a new scheme and Sean Lee of all people has not been playing well. I can't imagine that lasts forever. Claiborne should adjust at some point as well and as long as Barry Church stays healthy, we should be able to continue generating turnovers.

Knowing Dallas, we will win this game with no issues, have all the confidence in the world going up to San Diego, and come out losing that game, going 2-2 into week 5 against Denver.

EDIT: In regards to our RBs, I like Phillip Tanner the best based on what I saw in pre season. He had that fumble in the Giants game, which we recovered, but was benched shortly after that. He runs hard, and has good vision. Dunbar is our speed back but can't seem to hold onto the damn ball, even when he isn't contacted.

I think Dallas loses this game, drops to 1-2 and major drama will ensue in the media with Callahan. Every year there is a scapegoat, it may be him this year (rightfully so)

If we drop to 1-2, I'll probably sell my ticket to the Denver game and just eat the cost I paid for the flight.

The real issue with this team is JERRY. Even if we somehow win a SB under this fool, it will forever hurt me deep down because in this clowns mind, winning a SB after 18 years is satisfactory and it really isn't -- not for this franchise. I will never forgive him for ruining my dream of being the first team to win 3 SBs in a row when he got rid of Jimmy. One SB after 18 years won't change that.

Winning that third Superbowl with Barry was the worst thing that ever happened to this franchise. Even worse then letting go of Jimmy. It made Jerry think he could win a championship on his own. I'm not as hard on Jerry as others, I actually think he's above average at acquiring talent. He just doesn't understand that successful football starts with the lines and QB. I'm one of the biggest Romo supporters out there, but he's a UDFA. When Romo is gone, Jerry will try to turn backup and journey man Qbs into franchise players just like he did from 2000-06 and we will waste away the talent of Sean, Dez, Carter, Mo, Bailey, Tyron, Frederick etc. Jerry only cares about Corners, Receivers and Linebackers. I'm really hoping that Stephen will be different but honestly I doubt it. I really like the talent we have now, think this team will be good the next 6 years. But when Romo is gone :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{

uhhh its mr. Garrett's year...overdue since they fired Wade.

they wont fire Garrett after three games, Callahan will get demoted if they have another poor offensive performance, this offense has too many weapons to be anything worse than 15th overall in offense,

Garrett is in trouble at the end of the year if they don't make the playoffs, Gruden is the guy I would want, but I am a huge fan of both of the Bengals coordinators Jay Gruden and Mike Zimmer, both would make good head coaches imo, but it wouldn't shock me to see Jerry hire another coach he thinks he can control

I also think the Notre Dame head coach would be an interesting option if they went college ranks, also keep in mind Rod Marinelli I think he has head coaching potential he just had a bad job in Detroit when they went 0-16 that team he inherited as terrible but he is a good coach

Let me add this too, a few years ago Stephen Jones wanted to bring in Mike Shannahan as an advisor. Stephen Jones will hire a GM and a good coach when he takes over this team. I think he realizes that he can stick to the business side of things and bring in a football guy to make organizational and personnel decisions.

I have a lot of confidence and faith in Stephen taking over the franchise, but I've lost a lot of faith in Jerry Jones. Some of the decisions he makes are great, Dez Bryant and Sean Lee for example, but the bad are really bad Roy Williams trade the entire 2009 draft etc.

If this team got serious and spent money and draft picks on the the rest of the OL and DL, this team would be great. I am a firm believer in you build teams from the trenches, thats where games are won. Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick are great pieces, but the rest of that OL is very poor talent wise. Don't give me Brian Waters, I wanted him two years ago and I was right, dude went to the Pro Bowl, hes too old now and been out of the game to really help us.

I haven't watched any tape on Leary yet, so I have to hold judgment there. Fix the OL and DL, get a real free safety (Eric Reid has two picks already) and add more speed to the offense and watch out.

I think this team is two good drafts away. Need a ball hawking safety, guard and second pass rusher. A guy who can take the top off a defense too, though I think that can be found in free agency.

we really need that speed guy on offense, a guy with speed who can actually do things and spread the field, we don't have that
