the patriots and ravens played some of the same exact teams this year so i dont get where that argument comes from.
As for the playoff meeting last time, as long as we dont let ray rice run for 80 yds on the first play we should be fine. We had no wes, we threw absolutely no balls to moss that game. Ben watson dropped easy balls in a contract year like he wanted out. New year, new teams and it should be a good one. Would also help if ed reed's ankle is no bueno

with each passing day, I get the feeling Pats will win.

still 60/40 on the Ravens side.

this is a far cry from the "ravens will eat the pats' lunch" posts (paraphrased of course

)

join the darkside, you know you want a rematch of 2007.

That's the only reason I want the Pats to win

Evans was invisible most of the season but he caught a huge pass last game

This right here. We need to be able to contain the amazing pass offense the Pats have. This the farthest Ocho has ever been?
Brady can't score if he's on the bench. Look at past Bal-NE games, we always play the Patriots close because our gameplan vs them is to grind it out and control the clock. The Ravens are much more physical than the Patriots and Belichick knows it.. if we line it up and run it right at them they won't be able to stop us. Cam Cameron's conservative style doesn't work against more dynamic defenses but it will certainly work against NE.

The major advantage on NEs side is that Brady is insanely efficient at converting drives into points, particulary TDs instead of FGs. If Baltimore can convert even 3 drives into TDs I would be pleasantly surprised.

Either Harbaugh or Flacco mentioned something about having a particular point total in mind.. that number is 23. If the offense can't put up 23 points, we don't have a shot in hell.

Ed Reed is good to go btw

Guys like Brady are never satisfied and rarely complacent. Just look at him when he plays...He's out for blood.

That's why he will go down as one of the greatest.

The last time the New England Patriots actually won a Super Bowl was in 2005, which seems like a century ago. To get the team and fans back into the 2005 spirit, they have decided to have four honorary captains from past Patriot teams to represent them on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

On Wednesday, the Patriots named two of their four captains for Sunday, as they announced that former wide receiver Troy Brown and cornerback Ty Law will be honorary captains. The captains were chosen by owner Robert Kraft, who will name the final two captains on Thursday and Friday.

Alongside current Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch, Troy Brown formed into one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets in the Patriots offense. Over his 15 seasons with the Patriots, Brown accounted for more than 6,366 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns in 557 total catches. Brown has also been praised by Kraft as well as head coach Bill Belichick as being a good teammate and good guy off the field.

As for Law, this pick was also a no-brainer for Robert Kraft. In his 10 seasons in New England, Law established himself as one of the best corners in franchise history with 36 interceptions in 141 games played with the team. Like Brown, Law is often praised by Kraft as a great person and someone who represents the organization well.

weekend needs to get here...can't do anything at work with this game looming

As much as I want Rice, Lewis, Boldin, Suggs, and Reed to win this game and hopefully win the Superbowl, I just don't trust Flacco at all. If they do not score at least 20 points, I do not see how they win.

Run, Run, Run, and play Defense, feed the beast.

my brother in law is a lifelong 49ers fan and my father in law is a lifelong Giants fan...so these last weeks have been crazy in the mancaves/bars

now it all goes down this sunday...my liver/heart are not ready

i just need sunday to come...i'm tired of reading/talking about it

I want the pats to show and prove...the Ravens D is good...but they are old...and the pats have too many weapons...of course it looks like it's all Gronk now...until somebody gameplans for him and stops him then it goes back to Hernandez, or welker then dont fall asleep on branch or ocho ...i mean its amazing to watch

as long as Brady is on point and has time the Ravens wont be able to keep up

our D should be able to hold their own but we will see...bend dont break and let Flacco make mistakes

Ty Law...........

i wish they could pull a Ty Law jersey out of the Patriots museum over there and let him suit up for this superbowl run...hell while they are at it we could pull Harrison out that commentators box too

Interesting points made here from ProFootballTalk.com. Link to story here.

How Gronkowski and Hernandez are “queens on the chessboard

Bruschi captain #3.

4 has to be AV or Bledsoe. i would think Lawyer or Willie would have been announced before Bruschi.

^ We'll see won't we. I don't bet, but it looks like the line moved from 7 to 9 for the Pats (as of yesterday)...

will this game start exactly at 3 or 3:30?? sometimes they start a half hour after scheduling

cuz i dont get off work till 4 on sunday
