Is this a keeper league? To my knowledge that would be the only reason why the IR would have any use, since players on it are deactivated for the season.

Naw the IR for ESPN is an extra spot on my roster that I can only use if that player (which Rice most certainly will be on) is on the NFL's disabled/injury list.

Ahh, I see. I haven't played on ESPN so that's good to know. I never like to commit ahead of time to any one player just because there's no way to predict how the draft goes and who will be available when you aren't expecting it. If I were in that situation I would say that if Rice is still available when players like Jacoby Jones and Mohamed Massaquoi are off the board then you draft him if you have confidence in him. I personally would stay away just because I don't like the situation and I would rather look for sleepers that have a better chance to contribute throughout the season. But you are definitely looking at the later rounds.

As far as draft strategy goes, in a deep league like that definitely go for best available and value picks. That might seem like commonsense but a lot of managers lock themselves into a particular strategy (RB, RB, WR; etc.) to their own detriment. In terms of specifics, you can definitely wait on a quarterback and tight end this year because of the depths of those positions. If you aren't getting Rodgers or Brees I don't think you should overpay for someone like Romo or Schaub when you can get Flacco later (unless you are really high on them). I would say to also have an idea of which running backs you like because there is a lot of uncertainty there as far as depth charts go and you will be speculating as to which one will get the carries late in the year.

Ultimately though, in a 16-team league it's about who you value because if you pass on a player one round there is a good chance he won't be available the next.

So I got blacked out drunk last night and picked this team.  Woke up this morning not remembering who I picked.  Doesnt look good.  10 Team League. Snake Draft.  Had 10th pick, keep 2 players going into each year.  Kept Fitzgerald & Megatron.

QB:  Kolb
RB:  Addai
RB:  Forte
Flex:  Felix Jones
WR:  Larry Fitzgerald
WR:  Dwayne Bowe
WR:  Kenny Britt
TE:  Dallas Clark
K:  Prater
D:  Dolphins

Bench aint much to write home about, much like the rest of my team, but whatever, got tanked.

Ended up trading Megatron & Cooley for Dallas Clark & Dwayne Bowe.

That trade was pretty pointless. Clark is coming off an injury but he will be ready to play week 1...Megatron is alot better than Bowe although I like Bowe this year. Cooley is poised for a big year with McNabb who LOVES throwing to TE's

YO! I need one more team for my league. The draft is at 2PM Central and I have 12 minutes to get one more team. It will be on Yahoo. The league ID is 581393 and the password ohyoumad.
