yes, u can still use your mac without the battery in it as long as the power is connected. and, i basically use my MBP as a desktop replacement so it'salways plugged in. but i try to cycle the battery at least twice a month to keep it fresh as possible

Here is a useful page on battery info from the apple support site. In your case it says that you should calibrate the battery once a month.http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490

So I'm new to customizing icons & I'm just wondering if candybar is necessary to change the icons when only .png, .ico, & .icns files are inthe download? I know how to do it when a folder is already included with the copy & paste method but can't figure it out when only the above files areincluded in the download. I guess what I'm really wondering is if Candybar is worth the $29?

sure it is, if you like customizing and you [color= rgb(255, 255, 255)]P[/color]lan on changing your the[color= rgb(255, 255, 255)]M[/color]e on a regular basis.

Actually took about an hour for a 3 hour movie (Schindler's List.) Excellent application.

off dvd or a file? i use handbrake for dvds and visualhub for files.
 
Whats a solid printer that seems to work good for Macs? Looking to stay under $150 and I have $25 to Best Buy and was thinking that getting a new printer wouldbe the best investment for this. Any suggestions are welcomed.

any printer would be fine, be on safe side make sure its mac compatible, but im almost sure most are nowadays.. when it comes to a printer, it comes down towhat its used for? word processing? pictures? i suggest making an investment in a laser printer either way (color or mono), you'll save money in the longrun...
