aint no overdoing for something that can determine what type of job you are shooting for.

Your definitely gonna wanna study. No such thing as doing too well on the ASVAB. Better you do the more opportunities you get as far as what jobs you qualify for.

I did a quick google search and i read different things. Some people said they were able to wear what they brought and others mentioned they have to wear the New Balance's that were assigned to them. This is for Air Force basic. Thanks.
Quoting my question from the last page, if anyone can answer i'd appreciate it. Thanks

No...atleast not in the case of the Marines.  They provide you with everything that you needed.  They gave us all some pretty nice and comfy NB running shoes.

You get the option to keep yours but they have to be uniform from what everyone's been telling me. If not then they give you some asics that are molded specifically for your feet. I'm going with the asics since my free run's won't be uniform.

Thanks for the replies, i'll run in the pair i bring if i can, if not i'll have no choice but to run in the issued shoe. Shoes i've got now are Saucony Guide 5's.

. Hey man if you want overseas, volunteer for korea because its a 1 year tour and you get to choose your base of preference. I love being overseas extra pay, experiencing other cultures......im probably never going back stateside ever.

I'm a contracted SMP cadet in Army ROTC so i'm pretty much guaranteed to go Guard after I commission. Does anyone know how i can switch to active? i'm really not that excited to do the whole "weekend warrior" thing

Since im about to get out, I figure I would leave these here for people to enjoy

Nah i haven't got in yet. I got into a bike accident last year right around the time i was gonna go in for my physical at MEPS. Separated my shoulder and the CMO delayed my entry until June 2012. I need to see another orthopedist before i resubmit my application for a physical. Been a long wait but next month i'm hoping i'm good to go. My orthopedist cleared me last year yet i was denied by MEPS for whatever reason. Shoulder is completely healed and have full movement, rotation, etc so i don't think it'll be a problem. I'm looking at all 3D jobs and i'm hoping for an overseas deployment once i get out of tech school.

Any aviators in here? If so, how is it determined which aircraft it is that you will pilot? Do you get to select or are you placed? I want to be an aviator or navigator but I don't really want to fly cargo planes or copters. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think most of the people in this thread are enlisted. I think it's a test you take similar to the asvab that determines your route. There are also height requirements, and
other criteria.

just because you're doing SMP doesn't mean that you have to go Guard. Plenty of folks in my ROTC class did SMP and went active just get a good GPA and do good at LDAC and you have a great chance at going AD.

Yeah, I was trying to accomplish a couple things before I joined, so I'm ready now. I'm glad I waited.

how old are you?

What do you guys recommend to use for studying for ASVAB? I hear there are guides for general asvab and then for getting the job you want.

Also good workout programs to prep body?
