I bought a copy yesterday and I honestly think that the contents were lacking somewhat. I dunno. I was hoping it was about sneakers - articles, stories andwhatnot instead I was greeted by a naked model with the Tiffany on the side. Caught me off guard and thought it was kinda... weird. I mean, if I wanted to seenaked chicks I'd pick up a copy of Playboy or FHM... There was hardly any reading material to be honest.

Just my two cents. Peace.

I agree with shrooms, to be honest I was disappointed. I didn't even recognize Cherry Ann Kubota at first, comparing it with her pics at FHM. Same thoughttoo, It was almost soft-pornish. Poor lighting, poor compositions. Is this a thesis project? No reading material whatsoever. Just a few stories. Nothing youcan't find in the net. Lacks features that could be a selling point and appeal of the mag. Wasted pages on the girls if you ask me, a couple or threepictures per girl would be fine (it was quite offending to assume that readers want to see pics of half naked girls, specially to real enthusiasts, kindastereotyping), then fill the others with info about shoes, designers, shoebiz, local scene. The layout was also poorly done compared to other magazines in themarket. Looks rushed (ehem, footwear terms layout). Lots of pics without descriptions. what's up with the bad color prints? Awful colors and the lighting,I can't stress the lighting enough, It's kinda frustrating. I assume that this was done without a major publisher so I understand the limitations andother things overlooked or lacking.

Good thing is there is plenty of room for improvement. There is an untapped resource of shoe fanatics out there willing to chip in suggestions. More features, maybe start with at least 5 original or permanent articles/features in the mag. Shoe list/prices are good. Maybe "How to's"?. A work in progressand if things become better I might even subscribe. Cut down the pages with girls, come on man, shoes, we want to see shoes.

I don't mean to blast, flame or whatever term you use. Just a customer dropping a letter in the suggestion box.

You obviously had something else in mind.

The flyer and teaser video were an early hint on what to expect.

Everything in the mag was done on purpose.

We're not trying to be Sneaker Freaker, Sole Collector or SLAM. To compare Ms. Clavel to other mags is simply ridiculous.

Ms. Clavel is Ms. Clavel and we understand that we can't please everyone.

To those who haven't figured it out yet, Ms. Clavel is banking on chicks and kicks. I can tell you now that we have no plans of slowing down on thisconcept.

Issue number one is only an introduction on what the LOCAL scene is about. You're not gonna see Gentry interviews, Air Jordan 2010 previews, Fat Joe'scollection, etc.

If you are expecting to see new materials for "experts in the game," then you obviously picked up the wrong mag.

To say that the magazine is a thesis project is rather insulting to its staff and sponsors. I wanna see shops in Recto Ave. produce something similar.

There's more to putting a magazine together than good lighting/coloring, articles and a major publisher.

Thanks for the comments though.

We'll be thinking of you guys when we shoot our third issue soon.

tnx jojo for the reply, I am no expert, I'm just a reader speaking his mind and my apologies if I offended anyone in anyway. I can see your passion forthis undertaking and understand your reaction. It's no easy job putting up something like this. Maybe I did have wrong expectations for your magazine. What's important is you took the initiative to take that first step to something I think is going to get better and better. The line "you can'tplease everyone" is key. A good reference for footwear and what's out in the market, I just wish you had more materials we can read. Congratulationson the third issue!

any updates where the magazine can be bought? is it out on every filbars? wanna check out the one in katipunan area.

Gotta give credit to the guys who put up Ms. Clavel.

I never even read or bought it but I will soon. Even so, here's my opinion on this matter since I myself have worked with a similar company from the groundup.

Like for MOST, if not ALL publication companies/brands/etc., the first issue isn't the best. It's all part of the birth pains.

There will ALWAYS be mixed reactions left and right (Which is actually the best part of it).

We'll never know what's wrong or what works until the FIRST FEW ISSUES are actually published.

This magazine might even end up at par with or become way better than(in reference to everybody's general taste) other lifestyle magazines.
