Jokic my favorite player but let's be real.
Box plus minus is a box score stat, it estimates defensive performance
based off of how many steals, defensive rebounds, blocks players get relative to other players on their team.
Jokic is good at compiling defensive box score stats, but actually stopping people?
The nuggets have had basically 1 series where they held a team under the league average offensive rating. Nuggs-Clips in the bubble.
Basically every series, they've been roasted somewhere between 5-10 points worse than league avg.
a non versatile, slow footed center who can only play 1 scheme is a liability
regardless of how many defensive rebounds he can get.

BOS lost last night cause Horford and Timelord were missing, causing the Celtics to get outrebounded by 14 and outscored in the paint by 8 against the already small Warriors. Missing the bigs also caused Tatum to not look like himself in a super high profile matchup.
I'm sure the Celtics know how important Timelord and Horford are to their title aspirations. If either or both of those two are hurt, Boston ain't gonna make it too far in the playoffs.

This is just a myth, prime Gobert could switch, hedge or drop just fine
this idea that any guard could roast him like Jokic just is nonsense.
he was just way way better as a drop guy.

Pretty much all of his DPOY seasons.
He's just best at drop so of course you play drop if you can.
But the idea that he's comparable to jokic is obviously ridiculous.

Every playoff series he’s played drop he was cooked minus the thunder series. The rockets had him on giligans island his first DPOY season. We saw what Jamal Murray did. We saw what Terrance mann did. We saw what Jalen Brunson did. Switching has never been a strong point for him.

You have a 3x DPOY who is probably the 7th best defender at his position in the league at best. he’s not worth defending and hasn’t been for years
