The Official NBA Season Thread: I’m like Jayson Tatum in the Olympics I'm not playing

Worst 3 point defense in the league. Gonna have to get rid of the drop and start blitzing more.

Offensively the role players have been bad. Brook Lopez with 39/28 splits, Gary Trent with 29/23 splits before he got benched, Portis 45/26. Most of these on open looks.

Perhaps you get Brook more touches on the block, especially against guards, and just pray he doesn’t finesse it like he likes to do sometimes.

But at the end of the day, guys gotta start knocking down open catch and shoot threes.

Khris getting back should lift the offense but he shouldn’t be that important in the regular season

East is so bad that I think the Sixers still can get back into the Top 4 after Embiid is back.

Bucks are cooked though, IMO.

Knicks - I’m genuinely perplexed.

It's crazy the Sixers are only 2.5 games back from 3rd place (Indiana). That's why I am not too worried about the standings right now, but I am genuinely more worried about their dog 💩 play right now.

McCain looks like he is earning the backup PG spot and Yabu looks great. Still so much chemistry issues to work on.

As for the Bucks, the chemistry between Dame and Giannis is off. Giannis was used to having the ball on his hands making plays and is not used to playing off ball as much and that goes the same with Dame. They both need the ball on their hands to be effective so that kinda sucks.

Knicks have no excuse, they should be better.

Is it for the championship run from last year? It was the easiest and most boring path to a chip since the KD/ GSW era. Not sure why they picked this team.

Unless they interview Ainge and get his perspective on how he fleeced the Nets and Sixers to build this team.

I did not see any promotion for this compared to the hype from last year. Weird.
They’ve been playing a commercial for it with a bunch of players, Christopher from the Sopranos and Rosario Dawson in it. Comes on a lot. But that’s it, really. Not as promoted as last season, like you said.

Just give me two hours of Mazulla interviews instead.

It’s funny how the Celtics had the “easiest path” yet most folks were picking the Mavs to win the title with the “best backcourt in league history” and their great trade deadline acquisitions.

Cs beat the dog **** out of the league all year. One of the best statistical teams ever. People just didn’t want to give them the credit.

Adding KAT plus their other offseason moves improved their offense (3rd best in the league) but their defense has fallen off hard compared to last year (24th so far).
Tough to defend when you have a PG and C that can be exploited every time down the court. Even bad teams have personnel that can attack that.

There are so many injuries, windows are so short.

I think going win now at the trade deadline is more important than ever.
